    Testimony of a Slow Learner

So, I thought I'd take a shot at writing a Testamonial. I was born into a Catholic family. I was an altar boy, studied my catechism, and went to church with my parents and older sister. Throughout High School I was more interested in girls than anything and began to question the Catechism as I...

    Me: The Prodigal Apostate

Well, if you could edit, we might lose some of your "hot off the press" intuitive perspectives. Analytical algorithms can be somewhat vacuous at times.

    Me: The Prodigal Apostate

I'm still reading through your blog sections. Reading some of your perspectives, I sense that we may have alot in common.

    Me: The Prodigal Apostate

I've read that apostasy is a state of rebellion against what you know to be true. That seems illogical to me. In the Army (1965-68), I definitely lost my faith and became an apostate due to biblical teachings that I thought were untrue. If I knew it to be true, why would I not believe it? I was...

The Case for the Sinless Ever-Virgin Mary.

Reading your question, I thought, how does knowing whether Mary remained a virgin (or not) impact your salvation? I am not being mean-spirited. It is just a thought that I had when I read the question. It's like: "Did John the Baptist ever go fishing?" Who cares?

    Christian Debate Etiquette: Lovingly Disagreeing

When a 5 year old hits the baseball and runs towards 3rd base we don't hit the kid over the head with the bat and yell out "Your an idiot! Everyone knows that your supposed to run to 1st base. You moron!" Most normal people would laugh a bit, then lovingly explain to them about which direction...

    Dementia and a Trump-Biden Debate

I'll go with Trump. I wouldn't want to hang out with him but I like his conservative decision making. Our country was safer and much better off with Trump. Our enemies have bought Biden and he will give the country to terrorists..........wait........he already is.

Where does the Pope get his authority?

Hopefully I won't become as rude and impolite as you. It is you who should spend more time in scripture. You have apparently dove in so deep that you forgot the basics. I love you nonetheless. Have a great day.

The Crippling Effects of Christian Dogma - Mindless Parroting of Apologetics

That's been my issue with churches lately. They never seem to advance out of biblical kindergarden. Apparently, the church-going masses don't mind. Every time I try a new church, the preacher's talk as though we all just found out about Jesus. My perceptions may be symptomatic of my sinful...

God didn't always exist but he changed

It means something that we are not capable of understanding. I believe that we all try to pull everything down to our limited knowledge and, in our unrealized arrogance, dismiss what we cannot understand. I choose to believe that before the creation there was nothing but God.

Where does the Pope get his authority?

First, I try to identify who the real leaders are.

Where does the Pope get his authority?

The Pope is merely a traditional construct of the Catholic church. According to Catholic tradition, Saint Linus (d. c. 67 - 80) was the second bishop of Rome, succeeding the first "pope," Saint Peter, after Peter's martyrdom, ..........ad nauseum

The Case for the Sinless Ever-Virgin Mary.

I believe that prayers for worldly issues go unanswered. God isn't going to help you get over your bout of the flu or help you get a new car. Just think of how many millions of sincere prayers went out for the people trapped in the Twin Towers on 911 just before they fell. They all died anyway...

    National Oil Reserve

Yes, and if he would have let us keep drilling in the U.S. we wouldn't have high gas prices and the need to tap our reserves. Biden would rather enrich our enemies by purchasing oil from them. Amazing that the people are not enraged.

Why pray for God to CHANGE our circumstances instead of CHANGING us?

Praying to God about worldly issues, with the expectation of Him intervening, is fruitless. God lets the world spin. I believe that the only prayers that have effect are those that praise God, ask for forgivance and that His will be done. Imagine how many millions of sincere prayers were asking...

You would need to ask one of them. I am not.

I'm praying that the Holy Spirit would come to my Church (joining?)

Amen to that. Also take note of Thess. 5:19): Do not quench the Spirit
