I've just had my first dose of Covid vaccine!

If you choose to look at it that way, then every time you take an aspirin for a headache, you're in a "test trial". Because you never know if to will work on that particular headache or not. It's a way of looking at medicine, but it makes any distinctions between 'new' and 'old' treatments...

I've just had my first dose of Covid vaccine!

Indeed. And if they got it wrong, they won't be allowed to forget it. Yes - but I did read it first, and I wasn't consenting to take part in an experiment!

But they could be risking lives whichever choice they made. It's a gamble, yes - but not an unreasonable one. No - because if that were the case, they would need our consent. Things may possibly be different on your side of the Atlantic, but over here it's impossible to do any research without...

I've just had my first dose of Covid vaccine!

Not quite right. The Oxford vaccine trials started way back in April 2020. And there's no rule that states how long it takes to trial a vaccine. There are some perfectly legitimate ways of speeding up the process. For a start, many of the Covid vaccines are adapted from other vaccines that had...

I've just had my first dose of Covid vaccine!

Your first link is all about a controversial trial involving just 50 or so volunteers, which may be the precursor to future vaccine research. Nothing to do with the vaccination programme currently being rolled out to millions, using vaccines which have been tested in the traditional way. The...

I've just had my first dose of Covid vaccine!

All new technologies are "experimental" to begin with. But once they have been shown to work, that label should no longer be used. All these vaccines have been evaluated and approved for general use, so they are no longer experimental.

Giving us immunity to an infection more safely than if we caught it 'naturally'. This usually equates to preventing us from catching the infection.

Science itself is neutral; it can be used for good or for bad. And people were performing abortions centuries before "science" came along.

I've just had my first dose of Covid vaccine!

I haven't been forced to have anything, and it's not an experiment.

I've just had my first dose of Covid vaccine!

I've not yet had any reason to be tested for coronavirus. It didn't cost me anything (all medications and vaccinations for the purpose of public health are free in the UK). I will be having a second dose of the same vaccine in 6-12 weeks. Certainly not! No vaccine is 100% effective. No...

    Real pandemic vs staged pandemic

That's certainly true now. "Centuries ago", smallpox, diphtheria and cholera often wiped out whole families. My grandmother (born at the end of the 19th century) was the eldest of 11, 9 of whom lived to adulthood. Her family did better than average for the time.

I've just had my first dose of Covid vaccine!

Don't you realise that this is happening in your body almost every day, whenever you are exposed to a virus? This is how viruses reproduce: they enter your body cells, hijack them, force them to make viral proteins (which are expressed on the cell surface). The infected cells then appear like a...

Actually, I didn't have the mRNA vaccine. Not that it would bother me if I did.

He is, so I don't need any sympathy thanks.

Sorry, but this one case, sad though it is for her, doesn't mean we should avoid Covid vaccination. Bells palsy is usually caused by herpes virus (which most of us carry), and it affects thousands of people every year regardless of whether they've been vaccinated recently. As a nurse, she...

I've just had my first dose of Covid vaccine!

A lot of people think it might end up as something we need a booster for every year, but at the moment it's just speculation.

I've just had my first dose of Covid vaccine!

It is - Jesus said so Himself: "Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes may have eternal life." (John 3:14,15) The medical symbol of a snake on a staff goes back to the Greek physician Asclepius, but it's possible that...

    30 Days With Jesus

My daughter is moving house this week (and other things happening as well) - I don't think I have the time at the moment

    The experimental needles don't work

How can one vaccine "inactivate" another? I've never heard of that, and I can't think of any way it could happen.
