How to be : Sinless Forever

Both Genesis 26 and Romans 4 state that Abraham only grew stronger in the faith with regards to the promises of God. He did not waver in unbelief. I understand that a lot of Christians don't like some of Abraham's actions. He lived in a very different world, but the Bible did not disclose any of...

For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God...

Your own words so far seem to bear witness against you. You keep dodging questions (not just from me).

Do you agree or disagree? What is your understanding?

What must one do to be born again? Is one born again if they have received the Holy Spirit?

For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God...

@FaithWillDo We have to obey Jesus' commandments to remain in him. There is no salvation outside of him. If I obey Jesus' commandments for the purpose of remaining in him, then it's because I believe in Jesus and what he said, and am obeying out of faith. If I repent, believe, and confess...

Well respectfully, you're either an apostle or not; and if you are, then Christians need to be able to prove or disprove it. Skepticism has its place in discernment. There is no need to compare me to an atheist. It was an honest and valid question. [Rev 2:2 NASB95] 2 'I know your deeds and your...

For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God...

An apostle is one who is sent by God to spread the gospel, establish churches, and keep them in order by appointing evangelists and pastor-teachers as overseers. They worked miraculous signs and wonders to demonstrate the power of the Holy Spirit, and their doctrine was pure - no errors. If...

For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God...

Because if we go on sinning without repenting, we spiritually die again and are no longer born-again

Sin is any transgression against Jesus' commandments. To say that Jesus was selfless is somewhat vague. He offered himself selflessly for all who would repent and obey him, but Jesus does have very clear boundaries.

You consider yourself an apostle? Can you prove this?

How to be : Sinless Forever

Yeah. That was Paul's point in Romans 3:28, but Abraham still has works. Offering up his son was not Abraham's only work. He left his father's house when God told him to leave. He sent Hagar and Ishmael away when God instructed him to do so. God said that Abraham obeyed him. [Gen 26:5 NASB95]...

That just means Abraham was justified apart from the Law of Moses, as Paul explained in Romans 3:28, but Abraham did have works, and it was a part of his justification (James 2).

Hello. Thank you for the comment and welcome. I have a lot that I can say on this subject, and I probably will in a later thread, but for now I encourage you to read my Statement of Faith on my profile. It explains more of why I don't think there are any more apostles.

How to be : Sinless Forever

Paul did not teach justification by faith alone. He taught justification by faith apart from the works of the Law of Moses (Rom 3:28). If we just acknowledge that fact, then there is no longer a need to reinterpret James 2 as you have. Take it at face value. If faith is never alone, then it's...

    Sinless perfection is easy

Then you're essentially saying the New Covenant is a deception. [1Co 15:34 NKJV] 34 Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak [this] to your shame. How can we be saved if we haven't even been able to resist sin in day-to-day life, when we're...

How to be : Sinless Forever

We're not justified by faith alone (James 2:24 & 26. This idea that 'I must obey but be careful that I'm not doing it to maintain salvation' is illogical. If Jesus tells us to obey, and we obey him because we believe his words, then it is automatically by faith. The line of thinking you've...

    Sinless perfection is easy

The reason why most Christians don't do this is because they don't understand it. This is because Christianity has been flooded with heretics and apostates as early as the 1st century AD. Paul predicted this in Acts 20. However, we are to walk by faith, not by sight. That means believing what...

For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God...

Works are only related to the Old Covenant if they are the works of the Law of Moses. However, we do have commandments from Jesus to obey. Those work must be added to our faith to keep it alive. Out of curiosity, where do you get this teaching from?

    Salvation is fellowship.

How to be : Sinless Forever

You're splitting hairs and avoiding the underlying issue of obedience. We receive the Holy Spirit by faith. [Gal 3:2 NASB95] 2 This is the only thing I want to find out from you: did you receive the Spirit by the works of the Law, or by hearing with faith? God doesn't accept dead faith.
