How likely was the first day a 24-hour period?

The sun and moon didn't come into play until day 4, so no telling how long days 1, 2, and 3 were. A day is as a thousand years to the Lord and a thousand years as a day.

    Should a Christian fear God?

Ecclesiastes 12:13 13Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

Proof: Paul not writing of himself in Romans 7

Paul was referring to himself as the language clearly indicates. This was Paul's thorn in the flesh as discussed in 2 Cor 12: "all manner of concupicense"

    The Sinners Prayer?

Look for the church that resembles the bible. Not all so called churches are the same nor do they all strictly adhere to the word of God. See Titus and 1 Tim for clues to church organization and hierarchy. And of utmost importance, they must teach truth and be focused on saving souls.

JUSTIFICATION by works, grace, or faith?

I'm not going to debate nonsense with you. The scriptures speak for themselves. Go waste your time with someone else. Goodbye

JUSTIFICATION by works, grace, or faith?

ALL scriptures must be taken into account and when that's done you get belief, faith, confession, repentance, baptism, and God's grace that saves.

JUSTIFICATION by works, grace, or faith?

Sorry, your words and thoughts and inconsistent with the clear words and thoughts expressed in the word of God.

JUSTIFICATION by works, grace, or faith?

Belief/faith and grace in conjunction with repentance and baptism = justification or salvation. The "works" you indicated are really simply obedience, and unfortunately, a great many people erroneously believe that things like baptism are a "work", and therefore not required which is contrary...

    SAVED : without Water

You said "there are water cults---blah, blah, blah." Well, there's also scripture that says baptism is a requirement of salvation. Plain and simple for anyone to read, understand, and comply with. Mark 16:15-16 15And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every...

    Re Spirit baptism

Desire? Yes, AFTER, he was told about it and it's need! Needed for what? Forgiveness of sins, becoming part of the body of Christ, receiving the gift of the Spirit. He knew nothing about baptism until Philip told him. He knew nothing very much of anything including Christ.

    Re Spirit baptism

Read the account of the conversion of the Ethiopian eunuch in Acts 8. He confessed his belief but was still in need of baptism. Notice in Philip's preaching Christ to him and his inquiry regarding baptism. Obviously, part of Philip's preaching of the gospel to him included the need to be...

The thief on the cross was born of water and of the Spirit — Rightly dividing the word of truth.

Just FYI and for others who may read this. The previous poster of post #32 doesn’t know at all what he's talking about and has a bias against the necessity of baptism and God's perfectly clear words of scripture. The subject of baptism in regards to the thief on the cross is a non issue and...

    Re Spirit baptism

For clarification of the previous post, if you look at the original Greek in the interlinear, it reads "in one Spirit" (en) not "by one Spirit" as is mistranslated in the KJV and others. It does make a difference in proper understanding of 1 Cor 12:13

    Re Spirit baptism

Just to correct the previous poster, a man and a woman become united when they are joined together sexually. Vows and ceremony have nothing at all to do with it in God's eyes. Gen 38:8-9 8And Judah said unto Onan, Go in unto thy brother's wife, and marry her, and raise up seed to thy brother...

    The twelfth Apostle

I see how it could possibly be misinterpreted to mean or infer they too were apostles, but I read it as they are noteworthy and/or recognized by the apostles.
