Were Jesus's brothers born of another woman?

Agreed. I maintain that the translators did a good job of translating.... otherwise we'd have to know at least 3 languages to read the bible correctly. I do believe I should leave this part of this thread. I got brain freeze quite a few posts ago!

Were Jesus's brothers born of another woman?

Psalm 16:8 would confirm what @Matthias stated before in that God is always at our side.

Were Jesus's brothers born of another woman?

Depends on the version M. LORD GOD FATHER Lord Jesus I don't see any lord.....to me that would mean any person that could be addressed as lord.... a master, for instance.

Were Jesus's brothers born of another woman?

That's the exact point I made....Jesus is at the right hand of God Father in verse 5.....

Were Jesus's brothers born of another woman?

I don't know if @Verily will agree.... in every bible I checked Lord means Jesus Messiah and LORD means God Father.

Were Jesus's brothers born of another woman?

Ditto for the NASB.... Psalm 110:5 seems to me to be Messiah....Lord.
  8. GodsGrace

Were Jesus's brothers born of another woman?

I have Messiah for verse 5. Really, when someone is at the right hand of someone..... It's the "someone" that has the authority... not the person at their right hand.....

Were Jesus's brothers born of another woman?

M,,,,,are we not suppose to pay attention to LORD or Lord? In verse 1 GOD is saying to Messiah SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND In verse 5 The Messiah is sitting at the right hand of GOD WHY does one of my bibles state, in verse 5, that Messiah stands at the right hand of GOD to protect Him? (I...

Were Jesus's brothers born of another woman?

Verily,,,,I'm following along since this is a very quoted verse. I believe Psalm 110:5 is speaking about the Messiah.....Lord. But what do you say that this means?: Psalm 110:5 The Lord stands at your right hand to protect you..... It would be The Lord (Messiah) stands at the right hand of...

Were Jesus's brothers born of another woman?

Interesting. So why have 2 different words?? Theo does have the word GOD in it....

Were Jesus's brothers born of another woman?

No! We can't be baptized for someone that is dead. Surely Paul meant something different. must leave. Maybe you could explain primitive christianity?
  14. GodsGrace

Were Jesus's brothers born of another woman?

Must leave till later.....but: Theosis means that we can become sanctified in this life. Kenosis means that we can become divine....this is what Mormons believe. I'm sure you'll delve deeper.... I don't believe the first and certainly not the second.

Were Jesus's brothers born of another woman?

Primitive Christianity is grounded in Jewish doctrine and dogma. OK But did Christianity ever supersede primitive christianity? Or did it remain the same? Do we pay attention to what Ignatius of Antioch stated or Do we just ignore all the ECFs? The mormons took one verse out of the NT and...

Were Jesus's brothers born of another woman?

You think Thomas stating MY LORD AND MY GOD My LORD or My Lord AND MY GOD Is the same as you dropping your toast and making an exclamatory remark? That is your prerogative....I'm not here to change your mind.

Were Jesus's brothers born of another woman?

We're just talking here RF.....there's no way I could keep up this very scholarly discussion! Re the image....I don't know of any way, besides a one or two sentence explanation, to properly portray the Trintiy. Like I said...any example is heresy...but I do (or I should say DID) use examples...

Were Jesus's brothers born of another woman?

So you're saying that when Jesus was in the womb....He was NOT divine? That He WAS separated fully and was only a man? Doesn't KENOSIS have a quantity element to it? (Jesus was somewhat separated from God, but not fully).
  19. GodsGrace

Were Jesus's brothers born of another woman?

Give people a little credit. Remember that Thomas said. MY LORD AND MY GOD. The MY GOD clarifies that Jesus was both his Lord and his God. And LORD could refer to both GOD and what you described above.

Were Jesus's brothers born of another woman?

We're not discussing whether or not the Trinity is valid.... we're discussing whether or not Mary is the Theotokos and, naturally, the Trinity does come up.
