Where was Jesus between his death and resurrection?

No, “16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is...

Where was Jesus between his death and resurrection?

Only God is immortal. As for Jesus preaching to those who died in Noah's day. It's true. He did. But not in person. He preached to those who are now dead through the Spirit that was in Noah. He didn't give them a second chance, no more than anyone else.

If the flock you speak of is a literal number, then because they are of the tribes of Israel, then they must also be literal Jews. Are those JWs who make up the 144,000 Jewish by any chance?

Yep, those springs are amazing. And that little food court in town is one of the best. Was living half way between Putaruru and Arapuni. Left there in 2016 to come to Melbourne. What a culture shock. From a little community in the heart of a country with a population of 5 million to a city...

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

I would like to suggest a slight nuance to that connection. I don't think anyone would suggest that Christ was literally and actually crucified at creation. However, I believe that prior to creation, in their foreknowledge, the Father and the Son knew of the eventual fall of Adam and Eve...

attacking another denomination are included in this rule.

Just a few days ago while on tour to bring about global unity between all religions, including all major non Christian religions under ecumenism, the Pope said, and I paraphrase, "all religions are equal in importance. No one religion is truth, and another not true. All religions lead to...

attacking another denomination are included in this rule.

The Protestant reformers were unanimous in their speaking of truth regarding the office of the papacy. They didn't condemn individual leaders except as they may have behaved themselves abominably, nor the church members, but the seat of power and authority upon which the Pope sat. The...

Is Sunday-observance the same as Sabbath-rest?

Sabbath and Sunday are different. Very different. Sabbath was instituted by God at creation. It was blessed by God, sanctified by God, made holy by His presence. It was a gift for mankind. Jesus said so. Thus at creation, like everything on the other 6 days, the Sabbath was a gift. Who...

By what are we converted? It is the word of God. Either read, or preached. But we are not converted by commentaries, expositories, the church, church manuals, councils, canons or creeds. “20 Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye that are escaped of the nations: they have...

I think the light of the world that Jesus claimed to be was more in connection with the sanctuary. He was also the sacrifice, the door, the High Priest, the cleansing water by the word, the bread of life, the Intercessor and Mediator, the Light, the veil, and the law under the mercy seat...

What's your purpose at a forum such as this?

Why I am here is reflected in the name, Brakelite. I am convinced that God not only desires, but actively encourages and promotes Truth, as it is in Jesus. He does that through any and all methods and means He can in the hope someone is listening. My hope is that maybe, sometimes, He can...

I do think however we can make a very good educated guess, at least in this case, as to what it was that Paul was referring to which he had previously spoken to them about. Ithink in context, the holding on of teachings and traditions etc previously taught, was in direct reference to the...

I have been reading through this conversation, and find it stimulating, thanks to the goodwill between you guys. I am reminded of the time in the Gospels when Jesus sent out His disciples, and they came back rejoicing that even the demons obeyed them. There was no laying on of hands, in...

Why Did the Devil Tempt Jesus?

Wrong. There may be many things in the human heart of which we are unaware. Sanctification is an ongoing process, God will not chase away all the enemy, our "personal demons" so to speak, overnight. Conversion doors bring us a radical change of mind whereby sin becomes distasteful, and...
