    Why water into wine?

Out of all the possible interpretations, I can't think of one more ridiculous than that.

Is there a recipe for discipleship?

Yes, the denial of freewill is beyond me. Certainly Calvinistic to the core. They choose to follow Christ but when that is decided they seem to lose freewill to do anything else. It's like they are robotic and it's the power of God in them that forcse the choices before them and, yes, relieving...

Is there a recipe for discipleship?

I would agree with you on that one. Peter's appeal to the crowd had the 3 witnesses in it. Blood (Repent), Water (be baptized), Spirit (and receive the Holy Spirit) but for the crowd repentance is the key and the only baptism that counts for salvation (The baptism by the Spirit of the believer...

    The Crucible of Fire

I would agree in these different kinds of symbolism, but in this context, for them at the time and for us today, the Lord wanted us simply to know that no matter what circumstance or trial He is always there for us. And in being there, He is more than capable of taking us through. This is...

Is there a recipe for discipleship?

I totally agree that their is no power in the freewill decision that you make. What it does, is it sets you on a course of obedience or disobedience. God takes that decision and at His will hardens it, gives you power to follow through, etc.

    Why water into wine?

The only difference is that my assertions in this story have been backed up by Scripture. When I study the story and see that there can be a hidden meaning to it, I attempt to decipher that meaning BUT in doing so I know that I may be treading on water (or wine in this case :)) and therefore...

Is there a recipe for discipleship?

You finely admit that you make decision, trusting in Jesus, and that sometimes these may be wrong and most of times, hopefully, most are right. But you have not lost your freewill to make decisions.

    Why water into wine?

I do not choose either one the scriptures do not say anything about her knowing it was His time. You are the only one reading that into the text. Matter of fact when she made that attempt for Him to do something she was rebuke by Jesus who told "His hour hadn't come." I can't tell you what she...

Is there a recipe for discipleship?

You have over 2000 posts in this site and you have never heard about Matthew 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that comes after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire. This is the event that...

    Why water into wine?

NO! My interpretation of "mine hour is not yet come" is Jesus categorically stating that it was not His time. Your addition, elaboration, and mind reading of "they have no wine" is Mary playing the trump card, she knew it was His time, she forced His hand, she knew he would obey her and do the...

Is there a recipe for discipleship?

It isn't pasted but it is the same argument and truth that comes up whenever people question the Baptism of Holy Spirit and fire.

    Why water into wine?

Sorry Mary I think you're reading a bit too much into this. All she said was "they have no wine" and that's supposed to mean that she "She OBVIOUSLY knew it was FINALLY his time" A bit far fetched. Especially when Jesus replied to her that "mine hour is not yet come". And in support of that...

Is there a recipe for discipleship?

Well I've come to an end, the fact that you do not recognize Pentecost as a separate experience of the believer (someone who is already saved and baptized in water or not) and of the disciples (believers also, unless you want to deny that) at the time, the fact that you cannot see the blood in...

Is there a recipe for discipleship?

OK, I misunderstood your Aunt's community church and the newsletter by D.W. So if you tried and tested the spirit and things going on in their church and they were found wanting then I can see where you would stay away from it. Nevertheless, you are using that unfortunate, erroneous misuse of...

Is there a recipe for discipleship?

Thx for sharing. I for one do not discount people's different experiences in life. We are all different and unique to God and therefore He knows the better way of how to reach everyone of us individually. I have had my own experiences, God talking to me as if standing beside or behind me, a...

To be honest, it's the first time I hear of Dan Mohler. Would you mind sharing a few links?

I know what you mean there is a lot of garbage coming through. I've already put 2 on ignore. My time is too precious in teaching the Truth of His word, as He called me to, to waste debating some of the out to lunch stuff. Makes you wonder how much junk is out there.
