    Sex Education

The question becomes, then, is the school system to teach morality? If so, then whose morality does it teach? I'm not convinced that this question is so flippantly answered as some will inevitably defer to technocracy and statistics, of course. In addition to the primary question above, what's...

    Sex Education

To me, this is a parental issue. Kids are at different ages when they hit the maturity level necessary to understand the topic, and no system is going to account for this.

How do i delete my membership/profile?

Trust me, I run one of these things and get lovely rant-filled (and often quite vulgar) emails all the time that you guys don't get to see. I get Scripture quotes showing I'm going to hell, accusations of this and that, and even more sinister things. I've been essentially threatened with a few...

    Forgery in the Bible

You gave the [incomplete] denotation of a word, connotation is everything my friend, but the definition of forgery you're providing is not consistent within the usual range of dictionaries.

    Forgery in the Bible

First off, I would strike the term forgery and replace it with additions. It becomes almost entirely anachronistic to say forgeries because of the care and respect given to copying manuscripts. Number one, in spite of the attempts to employ the use of pseudonyms and other devices to explain...

bill nye the science guy has agreed to a debate

Wasn't the whole flat Earth thing a bit overblown? I remember some work had been done suggesting that not everyone thought the Earth was flat and it perhaps was a minority view. Regardless, I am not this excited about this debate. I am surprised that Nye wants to go on Ham's home turf...

OTHER RELIGIONS WHY THEY ARE SO POPULAR

KingJ, James 1:27 (James happens to be one of my favorite books, actually, which I am currently reading) speaks to exactly what the remainder of the book itself is about. It all goes to the simple refrain that faith without works is dead. I value the world's religions (and atheism) in that...

    Romans 9 Vs. Calvinism

This is the most succinct article for making a case against the Calvinistic interpretation of the subject of election that I have found: http://seedbed.com/feed/to-bless-the-nations-election-in-biblical-and-missional-perspective/ I won't be able to say it any better than O'Reilly did above, but...

    Hello everyone!

Welcome to the community! Hopefully we can help guide you to some answers, but I do recommend that you grab a copy of the Bible and see for yourself. Bible.com is a great place to start with a Bible. I recommend starting out in the gospels because they sort of bring the overarching message together.

    pasting text without formatting?

You can also paste and then highlight using the remove formatting button. It's the little eraser on the top row, second icon on the left hand side.

    Copy and paste

Interesting. I am actually posting this from a virtual machine running IE11 and I can confirm that the mouse copy and paste functions don't work. This wouldn't seem to be a browser-dependent thing, but I'll have to research this further. UPDATE: Alright, temporary solution is to use the little...

    Happy Birthday Angelina!

Please join me in wishing Angelina a very Happy Birthday! I am personally very grateful for all that she does around here and contributes to both Christianity Board and God's kingdom. So make sure that you tell her Happy Birthday (even though it's already ticked over to the next day on her side...

1 Tim 4:10, A Special Salvation for Believers?

This is why I've never left the Wesleyan side of the coin when it comes to salvation. I've viewed 1 Timothy 4:10 as showing salvation to be sufficient for all, efficient for some. The verse is not saying that all are saved, but that all have the capacity to be saved. If a benefit is offered, but...

    i am worried

You see this in the worship wars and other such battles within the church as well. There are some very clear delineations where a believer must draw the line when self-pronounced Christians begin to teaching doctrines that question major tenets of Christianity such as the deity of Christ or...

    Missing books in Bible?

^ To quote Cousin Eddie from the timeless classic that is Christmas Vacation: "Bingo." The Eastern Orthodox (EO) Church would arguably be the oldest branch of the three, so if you base your argument on tradition it would be the logical end of trying to find the closest thing to how Christianity...

    Missing books in Bible?

Even the Eastern Orthodox Church, which has a different cannon from even the Catholic Church, will teach that the apocryphal books are something to be regarded as not exactly the same as Scripture. (If you want to argue solely based on who used what first, they would win, FYI.) I have a couple...

"Do not make My Father’s house a house of merchandise!”

I've talked about this with my Pastor and we both expressed reservations with this. I don't think books are bad, but at the same time there is a rush to continually write books that seem to say the very same things over and over. I think what bothers me more is that we have all of these...

    Latest Blog: Protestant Indulgence?

Lit Aflame is our sister website, so from time to time I will be publishing links to it when an article is released. http://litaflame.com/protestant-indulgence/ This one has been on my heart lately. I was quiet about it during the news breaking, even though I wanted to post it on here a number...
