Is it biblical? - What does that even mean?

Whose doctrine are you referring to that comes from the Book of Enoch, and what is it? Then, we can talk.

Reader Poll - Would you be a Christian if there was no afterlife?

Respectfully, you present a false choice. Since God promises and demonstrates to us in the Bible that there is an afterlife, it's part of being a Christian. Do I believe because there is an afterlife with rewards? No, because that would be "works" righteousness, which won't enable me to get...

Fear Rules Christianity - True or False?

Does fear rule Christianity? First, Christianity is a huge group of people about whom to generalize. Second, I'm a Christian; fear does not rule me; Jesus does. Third, Buddha was not a true believer in the 3-in-1 God of the Bible and therefore not worth quoting or listening to. A former Buddhist...

Was the Transfiguration a vision, or an actual appearance of Moses and Elijah?

What difference does it make what form that amazing event took? Take it at face-value that Moses and Elijah (the lawgiver and the prophet) appeared with Jesus. The point of it was that Jesus showed his divine nature, and the Father approved of him.

Hell : Is as Real as Jesus

    I agree with you!

Satanism : As Calvinism <> TULIP

It's obvious that you love to set up "strawman" arguments and then shoot them down. Enjoy your fun. You still haven't told me why you attack "Calvinism," even though you don't really know what "Calvinism" is, according to the original writings, and you refuse to learn. By the way, I don't...

    More about : Calvinism

However, "foreknowledge" in Romans 8:28, 29 means much more than knowing ahead of time when it is between persons. It means in the Bible a previous committed love of one for another, that is, God for a human. God loved believers before he made anyone. People choose, but God pre-chooses them...

Satanism : As Calvinism <> TULIP

You're completely wrong about Calvinism. What you describe is fatalism, not Calvinism.

Hell : Is as Real as Jesus

I agree with you, but there are mysteries that our minds can't figure out like the Trinity, the full divine and human natures of Jesus, God's plans and ours, and others. God's mind is way above our minds.

    More about : Calvinism

Why don't you talk about Ephesians 1 and Romans 8 and other passages that talk about God's predestination? You seem to avoid those passages. Why?

Satanism : As Calvinism <> TULIP

Your misunderstanding of Calvinism is all I'm answering. I'm not trying to push it on you; I'm just answering your inaccurate charges. All the rest I have to say is the words of Jesus: "Mat 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged. Mat 7:2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and...

    More about : Calvinism

Well, you brought it up. May the true God of the Bible bless you with his enlightenment.

    More about : Calvinism

It's interesting that you don't give us the reference from which you got John Calvin's supposed statement, or were you paraphrasing it to get it to agree with you? God doesn't "CAUSE" people's unbelief at all. They start out in unbelief as a human race because Adam did in rejecting his Creator...

Satanism : As Calvinism <> TULIP

So, if you're not open to reading the original "Calvinist," there is not much more we can talk about. John Calvin would convince you that the information you have received about Calvinism is very wrong. By the way, why are you so disturbed by what you think Calvinists believe? Have they hurt...

Satanism : As Calvinism <> TULIP

Dear friend, you have been led astray in your misunderstanding of Calvinism or TULIP. Read the Canons of Dort, and you will see that TULIP is not fatalism. You interpret the Reformed faith as fatalism that has no human responsibility for what happens to us and by us. No, the direct causes of...

    IS THE REFORMED FAITH BIBLICAL?

Amen and amen, amigo! I am merely a seed-scatterer who scatters only in the strength of Jesus' resurrection. If we scatter, God plants and gives it growth. Once we share our seeds of witness, it's the responsibility of the people who hear them, not ours, anymore (Ezekiel 33).

Perseverance of the Saints is different from Once Saved Always Saved

Okay, I praise God that we're in agreement! Perhaps, the difference between the Reformed and mainline Christians is emphasis. The Reformed Christians starting with Calvin have emphasized that biblical truth more than the mainliners starting with Luther have. God hates sin but loves sinners with...

Perseverance of the Saints is different from Once Saved Always Saved

Respectfully, your statement that "it's not rational" sets your reason up as the arbiter of what is acceptable. I prefer to take it without my reason deciding the truth but letting the Scriptures teach me, even though a lot of it is a mystery. Just because you think the Reformed faith has said...

Doctrine as a god - bow down before the one you serve...

God gave me his new birth at the age of 16; that was 66 years ago. (See the book What God Has Done: My True, Dramatic God-Biography (Amazon). I just thought that we could share our testimonies with each other, but I respect your decision. You may have shared it, but I'm new to this forum and...

    IS THE REFORMED FAITH BIBLICAL?

Assurance of salvation comes with our walking with and under God's rule along with the victories God gives us through Jesus' triumph.
