    It's a funny thing...

It goes both ways. I've known Christians that have read the bible and become atheist. Anyways, I'm still feeling under the weather, so I've been watching movies. One of those movies is, The Greatest Story Ever Told. I think it was made in 1965. It's very good so far.

    It's a funny thing...

For the longest time, I've had this feeling of dread. Like the rug was about to get pulled out from beneath my feet. I've never known what it was, so I would always try to ignore it. Well, I've had a few things happen recently that have changed me as a person. I guess you could say I was always...

Critical thinking and education is linked to loss of faith

I went through the public education system until grade 10. Then I went to a private Christian school. Going from one to the other was a very jarring experience.

Less than half of U.S. adults believe in God without a doubt, but majority still pray: study

Don't you have to pray in order to become a Christian?
  5. Riven

    Anybody else?

Huh. Fair enough. That's probably for the best. I still plan on doing that as soon as things calm down. It seems like a dragon of chaos has erupted in my life.
  6. Riven

    Anybody else?

What are you? No. I'm agnostic because God, if he exists, remains hidden. If all of this is part of a divine plan, then I certainly question why it is the way it is. For example, why did Christ have to be crucified? Why not just forgive humanity and give them eternal life?

Less than half of U.S. adults believe in God without a doubt, but majority still pray: study

Why not? You hedge your bets when you're down and out. Might as well pray. It's free.

    Anybody else?

Well, the Catholics I've spoken to seem to think it's allegory. Whereas the evangelicals I've spoken to seem to think it's literally true. Seems like God had a plan.

    Anybody else?

I'm not sure that the whole story isn't just allegory. But let's says it's true, who else would have put the tree there?

    Anybody else?

I agree. Well, God shouldn't have put that tree there. He knew what was going to happen.

Trump shot at and injured but alive

How is it any different than Christians obsessing over the cross? Wearing one of those on a necklace everywhere you go is also a bit of fashion statement. Although not nearly as original, I'm sorry to say.

Trump shot at and injured but alive

    I think it's more like a fashion statement. :p

    Anybody else?

Thanks. I had to take her back to the doctor today. It seems she has developed bronchitis. Sigh... :( Yeah, it's weird. Yes, I suppose that's also likely. They stopped when I became a teenager. However, I lived in a real life haunted house. Things moving on their own, Ruhr ferling of being...
  14. Riven

    Anybody else?

Because I'm not saved? You think that's what the feeling was really about?
  15. Riven

    Anybody else?

Better. Since I joined, my grandmother was hospitalized and Trump was nearly assassinated. That sense of dread has subsided. Although I can't say if it were ant of these two events that caused it. All that being said, I have had instances in the past when things would happen and it would seem...

Trump shot at and injured but alive

Perhaps. But we have this one on video. :p

Bah. If I were God, I would ignore Riven when he prays because he's only doing it because he's suffering and he wants a quick and easy solution. Besides, it never works anyway. When I'm feeling healthy, I rarely ever pray because I don't think it works. Its a curious thing though. After...
