Why did God give you a husband?

I think so. Love Proverbs 31! Im also partial to Titus 2:3-5. Titus 2:3-5 3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; 4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands...

    Late night thread 2

He's back on. He just posted this morning in a different thread. He seems in good spirits, but I haven't asked about his health.

    Does God Love Everyone?

Not offering my thoughts. I'm the student here, not the teacher here.

    How Feminism Failed Women

My husband I operate like this. For example, he despises choosing what to eat when dining out and prefers I decide. The smaller day to day decisions do seem to be a burden to him. He would rather be consulted on theology, finances, and major decisions that impact us as a couple or our family.

    How Feminism Failed Women

No, I agree. I said not  just because feminism in wrong...as in, it is wrong but that's not the only reason I reject it. I believe homemakers can be miserable if they don't recognize it's biblical purpose and value. Also, we all must choose our attitude.

    How was your day?

@Pearl I thought about you today. Marriage really is like a dance. You were the one that illustrated that. I didn't mean to "leave you hanging" on that post before. I think my life was just really chaotic at the time. But a dance is a beautiful analogy.

Femininity in Christ is Something to be Passionate About

I think you got the devil's logic down pat. Anyone can get too comfortable and take the bait.

Why did God give you a husband?

Oh I see. Good! I just don't want to paint all feminists as man haters. Some actually try to stick to equality as an ideal and will admit women have more advantages in American society now.

Why did God give you a husband?

Interesting. She sounds like a "Dadvocate" type feminist.

    The Great and First Commandment

No double-mindedness. I think living sinful is hard and living sold out for Christ is hard. But trying to do some of both is it's own curse.

Bible Verses on Love/Charity For Meditation

1 John 3:17-19 17 But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? 18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. 19 And hereby we know that...

Why did God give you a husband?

I was thinking more basic and essential: paved roads, airplanes, trains, cars, medicine, plumbing. Washing machines, microwaves, fridges. I believe men primarily made those things because of how darn difficult it is to have babies and raise them safely as women. Most husbands under Christian...

Deconstruction, or Reconstruction - Renovating Your Religious Views

I wouldn't say that. I love zoom bible studies with other believers. But no official church membership in the past 2-3 years. "Wouldn't have to"?

Femininity in Christ is Something to be Passionate About

Western women of the past were simply expected by the culture to be feminine, submit to their husbands, and keep house. But passively going along with that trend made them prime candidates for feminist dogma. When women see married life, children, homemaking, and feminity as boring, dull...

Deconstruction, or Reconstruction - Renovating Your Religious Views

The Hubs and I are deconstructionist. But we are the Bible thumping kind, not the "question every doctrine" kind. We don't go to church and do Bible study at home.
