Was Noah “saved by grace through faith”?

Noah would have been justified by grace through faith and we know from verses as Hebrews 11:7 that his faith included obedience. Without that obedience he would not have received grace, not remained justified in his disobedience to God in refusing, rebelling to build the ark and would have been...

Was Noah “saved by grace through faith”?

1 Peter 3:20 "saved by water". So his salvation required he first build the boat, board the boat as God commanded then he was saved by water. Noah was obedient man to God during his life, not perfectly obedient, but obedient to all GOd's commands. Building the ark was part of that life long...

Was Noah “saved by grace through faith”?

They were saved from the flood when the ark floated above the water..."while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water." The anti-type (mirror reflection) to that OT type is us also being saved by water: OT type: saved by water (flood) NT antitype...

Was Noah “saved by grace through faith”?

Noah found grace in the eyes of God because Noah " was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God." Genesis 6:9. "Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he." Genesis 6:22 Noah found grace in the eyes of God because he was obedient and his...

Was Noah “saved by grace through faith”?

I will add that the salvation of Noah's house was not completed just when the boat was totally built, they had to also obediently board the boat. No salvation outside the boat.

    Sanctification

Nowhere at all in the Bible is anyone ever said to be righteous yet that person not having done any righteousness. What one does determines what one is and one who does unrighteous remains that way until he decided to do God's righteousness THEN he will be seen by God as righteous. NO wrong...

    Sanctification

I do not agree with this "outwardly" or 'inwardly' sanctification. It is God Who sanctifies - saves, not man and one has either been sanctified-saved by God or he has not. Even though God does the sanctifying, man is not totally passive. There is no case in the Bible of one being...

    ADDING WORKS:

----The book of James is applicable to all Christians, not just to Jews. ----James clearly says Abraham was justified by works: "Was not Abraham our father justified by works, What works? "when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?". The Bible does not contradict itself, Genesis 22 does...

Was Noah “saved by grace through faith”?

God commanded Noah to build a boat to certain specs and not until Noah completed the boat to those specs did he fulfill God's command. Leaving the boat partially built would have been disobedience to God's command and would not have saved him or his house from the flood. As CNKW3 noted...

Was Noah “saved by grace through faith”?

Good post. Also of note, Noah's obedient faith (not faith only) in building the boat did not earn him God's grace. God's grace required the work of building the boat hence the work in building the boat was a necessary condition God placed upon His free gift of grace.

    ADDING WORKS:

James tells us they type of works he is talking about...."Was not Abraham our father justified by works," What kind of works? "...when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?" James 2:21. The type of works James is talking about is obedience to the will of God. Faith by itself is void...

    Sanctification

    (1) Jude 1:1 "Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:" God is the One Who sanctifies man for man is unable to sanctify himself apart from God. (2) Hebrews 10:10 The death of Christ is...

The Gospel was changed by God:

Eccl 12:13 "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man." Luke 17:10 "So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our...

    “God does the works”

One must labor (be obedient) to enter into this rest of God (Hebrews 4:11) for the disobedient will not find this rest (Hebrews 3:18). In this life, the Christian is one who God has "before ordained" to walk in good works (Ephesians 2:10), the Christian is to strive to enter the narrow, strait...

    God's Laws Still In Effect

THe OT could not justify for it required perfect flawless law keeping that the Jew could not do. THe NT gospel justified for it does not require perfection but a simple obedient faith. YOu have yet to produce one example from the Bible of God first saving a disobediet righteous peren, THEN...

Why do so many oppose imputed righteousness?

The only dice to be rolled is found in Calvinism as to whom was lucky enough to be chosen to be saved before the foundation of the world. Yet the Bible teaches Christ died for all men thereby giving an avenue to salvation for all men. Yet only those men who obey (Hebrews 5:9) and take that...

Why do so many oppose imputed righteousness?

THose Jews were lost for they did not obey, submit to God's righteous commands. Therefore obedience is necessary to being saved and not works of the OT law or works of merit. The works refer to the perfect flawless works required by the OT law not a faithful obedience. Paul never eliminated...

Why do so many oppose imputed righteousness?

No one will carry one sin into heaven with them, not even a forgotten sin. That is why the Christian must have a continued repentance, (walking in the light - 1 Jn 1:7). so ALL sins will be forgiven/washed away. IF the Christian is not going to do the obedient work of walking in the light then...
