A Great Common Sense Rule: Comparing Scripture with Scripture

It’s easy to find Paul preaching the gospel of the kingdom in scripture. You haven’t harmonized the passages. Not only are you opposing the Messiah’s preaching, you’re opposing Paul’s preaching.

A Great Common Sense Rule: Comparing Scripture with Scripture

You’re leading people to destruction when you keep them from hearing the Messiah. None of the apostles, including Paul, did that.

A Great Common Sense Rule: Comparing Scripture with Scripture

You had better think long and hard about steering people away from the the Messiah’s preaching, for that is what the devil does. Those who belong to the Messiah hear his voice.

A Great Common Sense Rule: Comparing Scripture with Scripture

“Those preachers who declaim against us must admit that it would be a wretched sophism, extremely stupid and unfair, to take Acts xx, 25, and argue from it that death, burial, and resurrection of Christ were not preached or believed in at Ephesus, merely because those events are not mentioned in...

A Great Common Sense Rule: Comparing Scripture with Scripture

It is correct, which any standard textbook on biblical hermeneutics will confirm. I‘m following Jesus and all of the apostles (Mark 16:15-16). You aren’t, and you’ve misunderstood Paul.

A Great Common Sense Rule: Comparing Scripture with Scripture

The devil doesn’t want anyone to hear the gospel of the kingdom.

Barna Poll: Most Americans - Including Church Members - Reject the Trinity

That’s an odd thing for someone who supports orthodoxy - which Christianity Board officially does - to say.

A Great Common Sense Rule: Comparing Scripture with Scripture

“And now observe how this great common-sense rule, on page 18, is violated by some Protestants: - although we have seen it so plainly taught that the gospel of the kingdom was to be preached in ALL the world, yet they take an isolated text (1 Cor. xv, 3,4), and, contrary to sound criticism and...

The Bible Is Built on the Rock of Mathematics

Yes. It’s his views on the Trinity which cause many to refrain from considering him Christian. I don’t want to derail the thread so I’ll leave it at that.

    More than anyone else?

“God-fearing” is something I think we easily associate with Father / father. Now you have me thinking about ”Brother-fearing”.

The Bible Is Built on the Rock of Mathematics

I don’t often hear people acknowledge Newton was a Christian. It stood out to me that you do.

    More than anyone else?

Even though I’m no longer a trinitarian it’s easy for me to still think like a trinitarian. I don’t know if the pastor intended to be provocative or not, but he came across that way to me. I’m sure he wanted his readers to think seriously about what he said. He accomplished that with me.

You don’t know; we Jews know

That’s right. Why did Jesus worship his Father?

The incarnation of the davar / logos of the one God of Israel

“So the word of God became a human being and lived among us. We saw his splendor (the splendor as of a father’s only son), full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14, PHILLIPS) This is John, a Jewish monotheist, drawing upon his Hebraic background, speaking about the incarnation, the enfleshment...

The incarnation of the davar / logos of the one God of Israel

“And the word was made man, and dwelled among us, and we have seen the glory of him, as the glory of the one begotten Son of the Father, full of grace and of truth. [And the word, that is, God’s Son, is made flesh, or man, and hath dwelled in us, and we have seen the glory of him, the glory as...

The incarnation of the davar / logos of the one God of Israel

“And the word was made flesh and dwelt among us. And we saw the glory of it, as the glory of the only begotten Son of the Father, which word was full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14, NMB) The incarnation; the word was made flesh -> Jesus of Nazareth, the Messiah, Son of the living God.

    QUOTE for the day

“Many assume that as religion declines, atheism will rise. But history tells a different story. The alternative to Christianity is rarely pure secularism - it’s almost always some form of mysticism, occultism, or pantheism.” - Michael Horton
