    John Calvin and Calvinism.

You establish God predetermined sin. Yet He commands men to not sin. Now what was your problem again? Why don't you be consistent and ask why God commanded men to not sin, if He has already decided they would sin in the crucifixion?

Did you have any trouble getting out? Let's see..I just asked her. She said she'd be fine driving Trooper in the snow. (I think I'm the one who would be nervous with that!)

I was thinking about that verse today. Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him. I completely want to be faithful like this.

We got stuck on ice. It was no longer a problem once we activated 4WD. Here in Nashville we're expecting more snow on Sunday. How about you?

You must think it's absurd for God to have ordained the crucifixion while commanding men to not murder.

    You continue to confuse.

Can anything exist apart from God's power? I'll answer your question. I know why God brought us into existence. Solely for His Glory. Thank you, I hope the same. Can anything exist apart from God's power?

    John Calvin and Calvinism.

No, that is not what I am saying. The idea is very simple. You established God creates evil. ("God did create all things") So how can you rationally deny He causes evil? What is the difference? And why do you deny He causes evil? He boldly, unapologetically reveals His active, focused...

Discombobulated. Teach a young Christian. By what power do you exist?

By what power do you exist?
  11. Rudometkin

    John Calvin and Calvinism.

How can God create something without causing it? You believe He created evil but didn't cause evil. How can this be? God says Himself that He hated Esau. He also says He created Esau for His own purpose. So He created what He hated. Therefore hating sin does not mean He didn't create it...

    John Calvin and Calvinism.

My belief basically lines up with Calvinism, and I lament to God over my sins. So I don't wish to avoid ownership of my sins. Though I wish to avoid sins. Let's keep this going, though. Arminianism is the answer for those who wish to keep their sinful sense of power. The Arminian says.... "God...

    John Calvin and Calvinism.

The way I understand it, they probably attack him on what they figure are unfavorable logical conclusions of some of his words, and then use his other words to reveal his apparent contradictions. That is sneaky. Suppose Calvin says God creates and controls all things. Since evil is a thing...

OK. You disagree that God works in you and that words have meanings. We didn't get very far, but I figure we are done here. God bless.
  15. Rudometkin

    John Calvin and Calvinism.

Words mean things. God works in you. Work in is not work with. You keep saying God works with, but He says He works in. Work in is control.
  16. Rudometkin

    John Calvin and Calvinism.

Now you jump to merely focusing on predestination.. please stay on track. You said nobody is controlling you. Does God work in you, or not?
  17. Rudometkin

    John Calvin and Calvinism.

God doesn't work in you? What do you know? Believers know that it is God who works in them to will and do of His good pleasure. Philippians 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. This reminds me of those who say, "God has no hands on me! The...
  18. Rudometkin

    John Calvin and Calvinism.

Who proposed free will for God to have to deny it? He created everything from the beginning. What is a monster? So if God created you to be the controller of your own future, then God is good. But if He created you in order to control your future, then He is a monster. This exposes a lot...

    John Calvin and Calvinism.

This reminds me of a conversation I once had with a brother in Christ... I don't want to have a free will. God's providence is too great.

Whatever value God determines. You're questioning the value of a God who controls absolutely everything for His own purpose. What do you worship?
