    Fate vs. faith

I do not know if "belief alone saves". But faith alone justifies. I agree that if I only "believed Jesus Christ", and obedience to His commands does not follow, then it is a "dangerous place to be". But in my case I "choose to obey by repenting to Him ""calling on the name of the Lord"" for...

    Fate vs. faith

I believed, I did not choose to believe, and I'm saved. I choose all sorts of things now, but I did not choose initially to believe in Jesus Christ. So I think your statement is wrong.

If you are a church-going person, do your Elders know of your predictions? Maybe in another post someone could explain the consequences of a false prophesy/false prophet in a local church. (if it is false) This is one good reason to be a member of a local church: accountability, submission to...

    Porn free!

Every Scripture verse that Tommy quoted was a good word spoken by Jesus. And He spoke it to everyone. And He spoke it in love.

That the temple might be built.

I don't know the end, so I guess "it will come unawares". I don't care to know the end of whatever you are speaking about. You sound like a false prophet, or at least someone whose teaching I reject.

Can We Honor Jesus Christ Through His Mother Mary? a debate

Kepha31 said: Define "above women". I've never seen that term before. It looks like a non-sequitur fallacy to escape the plain meaning of Scripture that she is blessed among women." Mungo is the one who used the term "above women"; direct your correction to him.

Can We Honor Jesus Christ Through His Mother Mary? a debate

Mungo said: "You reject Mary who is part of the body of Christ, the one chosen by God from all eternity to bear his Son. God honoured Mary above all other women in history, but you reject honouring her." I'm sure your church has many "proofs" that Mary was honored above all other women in...

    Talking in Tongues:

Is this verse appropriate for your situation? From Matthew 18:15 "15 “Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother." Try sending a private message to him. Peace, Brother

Can We Honor Jesus Christ Through His Mother Mary? a debate

Because the Catholic Church teaches you only have Christ in a limited sense; you are a "separated brethren". Your church (if you attend one) is not a valid church. Your church's sacraments are not valid. Your Pastor has no authority. I guess you know all that, and I agree with you: if you...

    The unforgiveable sin ?

BoL: In post #155 you stated the above to Heb.13:8 , accusing him of rejecting Jesus, as do the demons . Are we allowed to do that on this forum? Christianity Board Rules: "Do not state or imply that another member or group of members who have identified themselves as Christian are not...

Can We Honor Jesus Christ Through His Mother Mary? a debate

Dave(kepha31) said: "All that we have said here helps us know about Mary. But knowing about Mary is simply a stepping-stone to knowing Mary. And knowing Mary is immeasurably more important than knowing about Mary since she takes us right to Jesus. Our fellow pilgrims can help us in knowing...

    The gift of tongues

    The gift of tongues

I've received the greatest gift of all: the grace of God (a free gift), when I believed in the Lord Jesus Christ. Am I commanded to stir up the spirit that dwells in me? Am I commanded to edify myself?

    The gift of tongues

"I wish you all spoke with tongues, but even more that you prophesied;...." It sure seems like he is simply exhorting those first Corinthians to seek to prophesy, instead of speaking in tongues. Along with the 12th chapter, he probably isn't saying every believer should speak in tongues...

    The gift of tongues

Sword: Every time I have read chapter 12 in 1Corinthians it seems to clearly teach : there is one Spirit, many members of the Body of Christ, appointed positions such as apostle, and various gifts such as tongues. It says: "Do all speak with tongues?" So, we differ significantly, since I...
