Who would you want with you on a deserted Island?

2 Timothy 4:2 “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.”

Who would you want with you on a deserted Island?

To all: Ear tickling is spoken about in 2 Timothy 4:3. It says that after their own lusts, they will not endure sound doctrine. Those who are disobedient and ungodly is in the same category of being contrary to sound doctrine according to 1 Timothy 1:9-10. 1 Timothy 1:9-10 9 “Knowing this...

Who would you want with you on a deserted Island?

Actually, I hear the exact opposite by many in the world of Christianity today. Most Christian forums I attended are filled with many Christians there who believe they can sin and still be saved on some level by having a belief alone in Jesus. They want to tickle your ears to make grace and...

Do you believe Spirit baptism replaces water baptism?

Obviously it is situational. The guy was a young rich ruler (who more than likely had mass amounts of wealth whereby he did not have to work unlike most of us who have to work for a living so as to pay the bills and put food on the table). Jesus did not require the same of Zacchaeus when he...

    The Pre-Trib Rapture

I believe in the Any-Time Rapture viewpoint. This would fall under believing in a potential Pre-Trib Rapture. The Lord told us to look and watch for He will come in a time we will not expect. This is what will lead a believer to truly live more holy and righteous within the faith (in honoring...

When Jesus said, “there is none good but one, that is, God.” did He mean nobody could be good?

It sounded like it by the words I read. My apologies if I misunderstood you. Grace and peace be unto you in the Lord.

When Jesus said, “there is none good but one, that is, God.” did He mean nobody could be good?

No. I disagree. We can be good but it is only by God’s power or goodness working through us to do good. I believe Jesus is implying that nobody on their own without God can be good. That is what we must conclude when we look at the whole counsel of God’s Word because I provided a list of...

When Jesus said, “there is none good but one, that is, God.” did He mean nobody could be good?

Jesus calls Himself the good shepherd. He says, “I am the good shepherd” (John 10:11). Speaking of Jesus, Hebrews 7:26 says, “For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;” So yes. He is good. You either...

Do you believe Spirit baptism replaces water baptism?

I would encourage you to check out the video I posted in this thread in my post #22.

Do you believe Spirit baptism replaces water baptism?

As of yesterday: I used to hold to the view that Spirit baptism replaces water baptism but I have abandoned this viewpoint. It seeks to create a hidden narrative that does not really exist in the Bible when we read about Peter, and others baptizing. It suggests that they were acting by...

What is the rule of faith for Christians?

Update: I had to remove these videos from Alan Ballou (that I posted before). While I liked Alan Ballou’s videos before on Sanctification and putting away sin and they were really helpful, the problem is he is a false accuser of the brethren. In the YouTube comment section in this video...

Do you believe Spirit baptism replaces water baptism?

Yes. I agree. We must be water baptized as a part of the faith. That is a part of our instructions involving the faith.

Do you believe Spirit baptism replaces water baptism?

Yes. I agree. I just changed my viewpoint back to believing that water baptism is required of us Christians as a part of the faith. My apologies. I updated the thread OP and my posts in this thread.

Do you believe Spirit baptism replaces water baptism?

Yes, I am beginning to see. Thank you. I do want to believe the text as it is read plainly and obey God. I do see water baptism (but in Jesus’ name) as being a part of our instructions in the faith and to seek to baptize others. I have not ruled that out completely here and I am considering...

Do you believe Spirit baptism replaces water baptism?

I used to recently believe Matthew 28:19 was in reference to immersing (baptizing) others into the teachings of Jesus Christ, and Mark 16:16 would be in reference to Spirit baptism by default (by a person preaching the gospel) seeing that it is in context to preaching the gospel to every...

Do you believe Spirit baptism replaces water baptism?

So how do we explain the difference of Matthew 28:19 vs. 1 Corinthians 1:17? Romans 12:4-5 says: 4 “For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, 5 so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.” Ephesians...

Do you believe Spirit baptism replaces water baptism?

I used to believe Matthew 28:19 can be read in such a way that it is in reference to immersing (baptizing) them into the teachings (Which places them in the authority of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost). But now I believe water baptism is in view here.

Do you believe Spirit baptism replaces water baptism?

Update: Yes, I am changing my position back to believing that water baptism is required of us Christians.
