    The Messiah

For someone who claims to be an atheist, you sure seem to believe in God. But you also seem troubled. Instead of taking on the entire unseen realm and reality of God and falling on your face, why don't you just pick one little thing at a time and allow yourself the baby steps that all children...

    Moving on from Christs principles?

    I quoted you.

    Moving on from Christs principles?

This is waffling. Have you forgotten? You attempt to justify your point regarding the measure by which Christ gives the Holy Spirit and pressing on beyond the elementary principles of Christ, which you have stated incorrectly.

    Moving on from Christs principles?

You speak out of both sides of your mouth. I advocate for the Spirit by the terms of Christ, and you call "heresy." Then you contradict yourself to as much as agree with those same terms of Christ that I stated in quotes.

    Moving on from Christs principles?

And here you reveal your lack of knowledge, saying that the Holy Spirit has nothing to do with revelation. On the contrary, all revelation is by the Holy Spirit. God is spirit.

    Moving on from Christs principles?

Paul himself warned against giving any man glory in the flesh, even referring to himself, but saying rather, “He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.”

Wouldn't it just be easier if we were all let out and then asked what we wanted to do

What has been meant for evil, God has meant for good. It is all a sting operation, and many are the children.

    Moving on from Christs principles?

Many times Jesus stated the terms of receiving the Holy Spirit, saying, "With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given" and "For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he...

    Moving on from Christs principles?

Your understanding of these things is askew just as it was for Israel. Understand that precedence. As for what you say here regarding Paul being an apostle to the gentiles, an apostle by definition is simply one sent. Is/was Paul the only one sent? Of course not, many are sent as the...

Wouldn't it just be easier if we were all let out and then asked what we wanted to do

Those who were dead and now face this would-be life leading to death, have been given the opportunity to choose life.

    Moving on from Christs principles?

That was all well and good for these past 2,000 years-- But you have stopped short (as most have) of the end of all that is written-- that "all truth" and "the mystery of God...as He declared to His servants the prophets." is not "finished" until "the days of the sounding of the seventh angel."...

Wouldn't it just be easier if we were all let out and then asked what we wanted to do

What are you even talking about? Do you not know the purpose of creation and the business of which God is about doing?
  13. ScottA

    Moving on from Christs principles?

You are not connecting the dots. "All truth" promised by Jesus, was and is relative to the Holy Spirit being poured out upon "all flesh." And "all truth" is not even evident now, let alone during Paul's time of ministry. On the contrary, Paul's ministry to the Gentiles was and is also...

    Moving on from Christs principles?

This is the topic of your thread--and you do not understand? ("Are you the teacher of Israel, and do not know these things?") Do you not understand that Paul was saying that the elementary principles of Christ were "elementary?" That being "elementary" meant foundational, and that the whole...

    Moving on from Christs principles?

You're missing the point. You claim the promised "all truth" has all already come as if you have it and have no questions about anything. But not only do you not have "all truth"-- that's not what happened at Pentecost, that was just the beginning. Meanwhile, if I in that same Spirit try to...

    Moving on from Christs principles?

Again, that falls short of "all truth." History proves it.
  17. ScottA

    Moving on from Christs principles?

The problem with that, is it falls short of "all truth." If it were not so, there would remain no more questions, no more debates or disagreements.
  18. ScottA

    Moving on from Christs principles?

Paul "pressed on"...counselling that we should go "beyond the elementary principles of Christ", who Himself said He had many more things to say to them at that time, because they could "not bear it" all then. At the same time Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit to lead "unto all truth"-- not...

    Moving on from Christs principles?

Jesus also said, "I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now." And who even now could or would dare say they can bear more than the "apostles??" Heaven forbid! It's as if religious leaders have imposed a limit on those "many things" which Jesus assigned to the Holy...

    The Left Redefining Words

That pretty well sums it up! But what we can expect--what is actually to occur, is "distress of nations...and men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth" in relatively small enactments that are sure to be denied as even occurring--just...
