    Azygous Assembly

The topical subject concerns the mistaken concept that the non-Christian OT saints will be a part of the Church and Body of Christ. It is taught among many spiritual growth authors (Plymouth Brethren - circa 1700-1800's) that God's people Israel (those who believe in God but not Christ - Jhn...

    Azygous Assembly

I would say Gentile Christians are spiritual children of Abraham, and Christian Jews are literal children of Abraham. All still retain their literal progeny because I believe the passage is being metaphorical concerning the Gentiles; and I also don't see this issue as something that can affect...

    Azygous Assembly

Hi Brother! It's the eschatology of Israel that is difficult. One point of interest is that the saints left that are "sealed" in their foreheads are of course the Jews who will be saved during the Millennium. The Covenant of the Mosaic Law, which is paused, involves all non-Christian Jews who...

    Azygous Assembly

The "branches cut off" or "broken off" is the same as "the casting away of them," which in my opinion is only in reference to fellowship with God, but not union with Him; because as you've indicated, God will restore them to fellowship during the Millennium. Good reply and appreciate it!

    Azygous Assembly

This passage differentiates that there is no respect of persons between ethnicities, not between literal progenies. The Jew who is a Christian is literally a believing Jew. It's as you said, "no division (preference or prejudice) between Christian Jews and Gentiles; otherwise there would be no...

    Azygous Assembly

Hi, and appreciate your concern! There are many who mistakenly see the Jews in the OT as part of the Church of Christ. This and a few other articles I've posted attempt to show that God is going to do something with His people Israel that He is not going to do with the Christians. Though I...

    Azygous Assembly

Certain schools of theology, mainly Covenant (a), contend that the Church in her present form is but a continuation of God’s one purpose from the beginning of the human family (b). They speak of an “Old Testament Church” and seek to relate this to the one Body that constitutes the New Testament...

Are Doctrines affected by Modern Versions

I suppose it's better to say that all believers put God first.

    “Exhort One Another” (Heb 10:25)

Yes, it’s another article on Bible translations! I believe the issue of false Bibles is important enough to continue plugging at the problem. The Word established our Faith and salvation; and it’s the Word that causes the believer to grow “in the unity of the faith” (Eph 4:13). “Exhort One...

Are Doctrines affected by Modern Versions

True; and he knows he can't separate us from God, but can only attempt to cause us to avoid spiritual growth, which is the most important thing after being saved!

Are Doctrines affected by Modern Versions

If one truly believes in God and puts Him first, He will bring that one to maturity the quickest. If the believer doesn't put God first (still many have to learn this), the growth will be negligible; but yet saved.

Are Doctrines affected by Modern Versions

Good comments! It's all definitely Satan's continued attack from the time he said, "Yea, hath God said," wrestling His Word for doubt (Gen 3:1), which only delays Christian maturity but never affect salvation! These false translations are an addition to the ongoing immaturity of the Church, of...

    Instrument Notwithstanding

It's no longer ourselves but the "old man" that sins. This answers to Paul saying that it is no longer him, in his new man that sins, but the old man that still sins (Ro 7:17, 20). It's my understanding that believers do not willfully and intentionally sin any more, and this is where God has us...

    Instrument Notwithstanding

Man is a “frail” creature! Even saints, who do their most to “please” God (Phl 2:13). Though they still possess the sin nature—it no longer possess them, by causing them to desire sin (Rom 8:9). The primary infirmity of the believers is knowing and hating the “old man”; and thou they still sin...

Classic Commentaries on Romans 1:19, 20

John Gill (1697-1771) Verse 19. “Because that which may be known of God,....“ There are some things which could not be known of God by the light of nature; as a trinity of persons in the Godhead; the knowledge of God in Christ as Mediator; the God-man and Mediator Jesus Christ; his incarnation...

    Faith Is A Constant

Hi, and thanks for the reply! One could say that faith is the conduit of salvation, for it's "through" faith that one is saved; and faith is permanent, like salvation. Once faith is established, all that will ever be needed is growth in it, which God ensures of every one reborn (Phl2:13).

    Faith Is A Constant

One can truly believe there is a God, but lack the desire to believe in Him. Romans-One teaches that one can believe about God, that He is real, and at the same time not put trust in Him. Scripture says that He has proved to all that He is real by showing them all of what may be known about...

    The Defeated Foe

Of course believers are never possessed by demons, but they can delay your growth in the Lord Jesus we allow it; and never can affect or salvation.

    The Defeated Foe

Thanks for the reply Brother! It of course should be known that the devil can oppress believers, but never possess them, as some might think. Satan is always harassing believers, but he can only affect their spiritual growth (temporarily), and never their salvation, which is permanent.
