No--they are not. They include long passages of the Bible in their work but they are not responsible for putting it together. From the earliest days of the Church, the gospels and the epistles were copied and circulated through the fledgling network of churches throughout the Mediterranean...

    Please explain this.

It is not rude--it is emphatic. I fear for your soul and for those who would listen to the lies. And I did NOT "blow my top" nor did I make an accusation that was not founded in my concern. I was never angry at all.

Didn't I tell you that some Jews have formulated lies to "lead the goyim astray"? Whether THEY believe in the devil or not is not relevant. They are antichrist. Why are you preaching Judaism 101? They are antichrist and soon they will have you reading the Talmud, and even the Zohar. Satan...

NO! You are badly mistaken. In the opening chapter of the Gospel of John, we see John the Baptist declaring, as Jesus walks toward him, "Look, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!" (verse 29) Nothing in the New Testament makes any sense at all, if we cannot acknowledge Jesus...

They did understand to some degree. If you look at the Book of Job (which is thought to predate the Torah--technically only the first five books of the OT) he appears much as we would think of him today--he taunts God and is the source of Job's affliction. What the O.T. saints thought was that...

I did??? When?? How would I know that?? You did! You said that whoever doesn't agree with you is "lawless"! I already have--and they are not infallible you know. The French Huguenots (Protestants) were so angry over some of the things that Irenaeus wrote that they trashed his tomb in...

    Please explain this.

It means that they were called but not chosen. Jesus said, "Many are called, but few are chosen." (Matthew 22:14) in His parable of the Great Feast. Humans are a stubborn and stiff-necked lot--they refuse to let God take away their hearts of stone and give them a heart of flesh. When God...

    Please explain this.

The largely Gentile Church has never been under the Law--that was settled very early--at the Jerusalem Council (see Acts 15). Our obedience to Christ is based in our love for Him and others--not on any set of rules.

It's okay, Grailhunter. You can get off your knees--GodsGrace and I may work it out--or maybe not, but you don't need to ruin your orthopedic health about it. ;) It is possible to disagree and yet remain friends. :) Thank you for your concern and prayers.

Really--you need to give the man a break. Perhaps he has something to do besides responding to anonymous demands on the internet. I already have.
  11. L

    Please explain this.

Not an insult at all--you apparently did not understand what I was saying--my apologies if I was not clear. Just because I don't care what you say about me doesn't mean that I don't care about what you have to say at all. You have jumped to conclusions. I thought we were having a theological...

Not sure that he ever had a "first love". Apparently, he and his parents believe that he was saved when they had him baptized as an infant. :(
  13. L

    Please explain this.

How can Paul know who is saved and who is not--in advance? He and the Apostle John both say that the fact that certain members of congregations did not continue in the faith, proves that they weren't believers to begin with. (See 1 John 2:19 for an example, just off the top of my head)...
  14. L

    Please explain this.

They obviously weren't saved. I have seen many "Christians" who were baptized (which does NOT save anyone) and raised in the church who fell into sexual sin and drunkenness (drugs and alcohol). Doesn't mean that they can't ultimately be saved but they are not saved currently. I fear for them...
  15. L

    Please explain this.

God is ALWAYS changing me through His Holy Spirit. But He will not change those who feel that they have no reason to change. Jesus wept over Jerusalem because they would not come to Him.
  16. L

    Please explain this.

Then are you discounting the rest of the Bible? That is what is meant by "the whole counsel of God".
  17. L

    Please explain this.

God'sGrace has already boldly said, in no uncertain terms, that she is not here to learn anything (see post #783, for her statement of such in her item #5 and my responses). Since she doesn't feel that she needs to be taught anything, there is little hope that we can figure anything out...

    Thank you, Nancy.

Okay--let's hear what you have to say on it. :)
