Are You Free From The Law?

We can indeed "sin our self out of grace", and "Grace is no longer grace" because there is no grace left! Sin destroys grace. The opposite of sin - holiness, righteousness, good works - increases grace.

Are You Free From The Law?

Right, so a believer can rape, pillage, steal and murder and still saved? Did grace cover the sins of Judas? Nope

Are You Free From The Law?

So explain why Paul warns believers in Gal 5 that their sins can lead them to eternal damnation?

THE AGE OF MAN IS OVER ONE MILLION YEARS

The Bible doesn't say the world was created "perfect" - but "good" and "very good". Your idea of a "good" and "very good" world may be very, very different to God's interpretation of those words. God no doubt thought it "good" that His Son suffer and die a horrifying death - that is not...

THE AGE OF MAN IS OVER ONE MILLION YEARS

    What did T.rex eat? Grass?

Not by works - but by faith

Without the Bible, you would learn about Christ the same way as most Christians did in the beginning - they heard the gospel from the Church and her missionaries. Most of the early converts would have been illiterate and wouldn't have read the Bible at all.

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Really? If that is so, explain why Peter warns believers that God will judge their deeds (1Peter 1:17). Then explain why Paul says, “For WE must all appear before the judgement seat of Christ” (2Cor 5:10). Obviously, “WE” includes all believers - and Paul himself. What do you mean? What you...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

In 1John 5: 16, “sin which is deadly” refers not to sin that causes physical death, but to sin that leads to spiritual death. Catholics understand what this verse is referring to - mortal (deadly) and venial (not deadly) sins. Examples of mortal sins are murder, adultery, abortion - sins...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Jesus said, “he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day” (John 6:54). Unless you belong to the Catholic (or Orthodox) Church, you cannot eat Christ’s flesh and drink His blood. To love Christ is to love and obey His Catholic Church.

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Therein lies at least one reason why every Christian needs the Church to explain the Scriptures.

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Since the New Testament is a Catholic document, and since you believe the Catholic Church is a “harlot”, shouldn’t you call the NT, “the Harlot Testament”, or something like that?

Not by works - but by faith

Every one of those Christian ministers who fell into apostasy and become atheists would have at some stage been totally confident that they belonged to the body of Christ and that they would never lose their faith - which is why they went around telling everyone they were “saved”. The thought...

Not by works - but by faith

The relics of saints are revered because some of them have been known to carry the power of healing. This is not superstition and you are wrong to say it is "simply not Christian behaviour" - the phenomenon is cleary recorded in the NT. Read about how Paul’s “handkerchiefs and aprons” carried...

Not by works - but by faith

What? If a believer loses his faith, he doesn't lose the "seal" of the HS because God wants them to suffer during the Tribulation? What on earth are you talking about? A believer is justified by faith - so if a believer loses his faith, he loses his justification. No justification means no...

Not by works - but by faith

And what of former believers who will remain atheists until they die? Do they still have the "seal" of the HS?

Are You Free From The Law?

In Gal 5 ,Paul.warns believers that due to their sins, they may "not inherit the kingdom of God". In other words, neither their faith nor grace will save them.

Not by works - but by faith

There is no end to nutty ideas. They keep us amused, at least.

Can men with a mullet haircut be saved?

I heard that mullets have been outlawed, not only in Heaven, but in Hell as well!! That says it all.
  19. RogerDC

Not by works - but by faith

That's easy to say, but impossible to prove, so it's a moot point. If a believer says he has faith, you cannot prove that he doesn't. I think it is safe to assume that a Christian pastor has faith - just as it is safe to assume that a Christian pastor who becomes an atheist has lost his...

Are You Free From The Law?

Anything published by Matt Slick and CARM.org is spiritual poison.
