There is NO proof text in scripture.

Just make sure that you are not using the scriptures for confirmation bias based on what you heard first. They are there for doctrine and instruction regarding righteousness amongst other things.

Is this a prophetic fulfillment? Fig tree prophecy

Yes, I concur. I think the time is growing short and the end of days are here. I have noticed many archeological findings lately too as if the Lord is opening up a box of hidden treasures that show his people of the past and are there now. I miss Eilat Mazar. She found what she believed was...

    If Heaven is so Great...

I don't think it's a heaven issue. It's a submission issue. People can have a miserable vacation in the Bahamas if things bother them while they are there and otherwise complain all their lives. That said, heaven is not the goal. The first resurrection is and participation in the Kingdom...

    terrible dream

Always record your dreams. If it repeats or is especially vivid, it may be a message. Looking at things from a scientific perspective, perhaps the Lord allows you to notice various things and signs throughout the day, be they things you heard on the news, circumstances that prevail, the...

    Is anyone else feeling uncomfortable?

And Yellow Duck, yes after my previous discourse, to answer simply, I have those same feelings today and lately again, or even yet!

    Is anyone else feeling uncomfortable?

I am friends with a lady who as a matter of fact helped start up this very forum. We are parted and communicate on another forum of hers and private facebook group. However, for many years, say about 15 now, we were posting and sharing about end times. I am famous for telling her "I have one...

    Halloween?

While on the subject of Halloween here's one to lighten the mood: What is Dr Fauci's favorite holiday? Ans: Halloween because everyone wants to wear a mask. Wah Wah Wah Waaaaah!

    Halloween?

My thoughts, it's Satanic. But that said, so are the other famously celebrated holidays. The world has 8 major ones for quarters and cross-quarters. They occur at the solstices and equinoxes and points between. For example, Halloween is the November 1 Samhein day in Celtic lore aka the new...

Refuting soul sleep, aka dirt nap doctrine

I have no issue with what the Lord stated, but he was describing Gehenna, aka the Valley of Hinnom where trash, animal carcasses and other things were devoured by fire, which was never quenched but kept burning and the maggots were continually active (the sinner was not called a worm). In...

Refuting soul sleep, aka dirt nap doctrine

Eternal life in hell should not be the punishment for finite sin. Death (cessation of life, no consciousness, no being) is what the bible teaches from what I can see.

Refuting soul sleep, aka dirt nap doctrine

Then God was mistaken when He inspired the prophet to write "The soul that sins shall die"? That's a direct contradiction so there has to be a good reason to say this when the soul is immortal as proposed.

Refuting soul sleep, aka dirt nap doctrine

    Then its not a parable.

Refuting soul sleep, aka dirt nap doctrine

From what I observe, the whole idea of the premise of this thread as well as final judgement destinations hinges on the immortal soul doctrine. In other words, the belief that the soul does not die and is immortal. It's like one guy once said to me, "we ALL have eternal life. We all do. It's...

Refuting soul sleep, aka dirt nap doctrine

Thanks for the answers. My questions are rhetorical, however, to prove /disprove the doctrine by simply reasoning in the Scriptures.

Refuting soul sleep, aka dirt nap doctrine

Does Jesus speak in parables? A parable is symbolic of something spoken specifically so the hearers did not understand. Then, what about John 3:13? Revelation is also symbolic. Isn't under the altar a strange place for souls to be?

Refuting soul sleep, aka dirt nap doctrine

This begs a few questions about this doctrine: 1) Where did OT people of God go when they died? 2) We also have to ask, if one exists as a conscious disembodied spirit, then what's the point of a resurrection for both the just and unjust? 3) What is the time frame for being present with the...

    Eating pork

I'm not sure. I don't eat it either.

Have any of you considered leaving the United States?

That's my point also. No place is better. No nations on this earth were better regarding freedoms than the UK, The USA, Canada Australia and what was known as the Commonwealth nations. But the UK as much as hissed their empire away like pansies and the USA is degrading itself to the piggish...

The Church is not prepared for what is to come.

Been saying this myself for years. Even once had a web site about it. It was frustrating then to see this basically go in one ear and out the other (and later on one can be accused of promoting 'racial supremacy'). I just wanted to know where the lost tribes ended up; that's all no matter who...

The Church is not prepared for what is to come.

Thank you, Helen. I think the Lord gave me some of of spiritual radar to sense these wicked schemes that go on behind the scenes in high places. The apostle Paul could not have said it better himself when saying about "We wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and...
