What did Jesus die to save us from?

Not when you understand what faith is. Unless you have heard God say what He wants to do and invites your proclamation concerning it, there is no way you can have faith but you will only presume. If you have heard but resist His word then you slide into unbelief. So faith is not a human...

What did Jesus die to save us from?

No... I have long learned to see discernment as a body function not an individual sport...

How to know : if you are going to Hell.

I think maybe Status and Condition are being somewhat c o n f u s e d... ( spelled it that way to stop the smiley appearing) Being Born again is an adoption into the Family of God. A transference from the Kingdom Darkness to the Kingdom of Light. However that is when our regeneration starts...

Friendly Bible Study - participants must agree to Nicene Creed.

There is a place to speak about a return to First Love even if the Breath of God inspires and empowers it. Past revivals are usually traced back to folks who prayed fervently for it over considerable time.

What did Jesus die to save us from?

You cant understand what it says unless you know how it works.

What did Jesus die to save us from?

It is clear from the passage He was addressing the whole group of disciples and therefore the 'You' I believe is plural. Jesus was teaching them how to relate as the group which would become the Church. So the context is mutual submission.

How to know : if you are going to Hell.

Ok to be on the same page then we will have to modify a few Scriptures - for example... Jude 24-25 24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, 25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty...

So we might see a return to Loving Community when persecution comes ??? Was the warning to return to that first love not there through John in Revelation ? Does that not indicate a departure from the Loving Church Jesus intended at a very early stage? How much more have we departed from...

What did Jesus die to save us from?

These verses are only understood if you have the biblical definition of faith - i.e. it comes from having heard Him first. If He says speak to the mountain then He has indicated He will do it.

What did Jesus die to save us from?

Good point - However this promise was for the body collectively and therefore conditional to unity in the Spirit...

How to know : if you are going to Hell.

Scripture doesn't specify this but it seems at the time of His encounter on the road. Belief is needed for rebirth and at that point he believed.

How to know : if you are going to Hell.

We may be on the same page... What you say sounds similar to 'Free will within bounds'. This sounds like a contradiction but we do make choices within boundaries God has set. Interestingly the well known verse "without a vision the people perish" in the Hebrew the word 'vision' is a fence...

What did Jesus die to save us from?

The hit rate is His business not ours, we just obey the requirement to pray for folks. Yes... Jesus could only do what He saw the Father doing - so believers need to develop the ability of seeing what the Father is doing. Sometimes a need, sometimes through a leading of the Holy Spirit...

How to know : if you are going to Hell.

Jesus said the Father of unbelievers is Satan and they are in the Kingdom of Darkness. This blinds unbelievers to the Truth of the Gospel and leaves them vulnerable to the forces of wickedness. John 8:44 You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a...

How to know : if you are going to Hell.

Please grace us with your definition of 'free will' to help the discussion be more meaningful. Was Paul saved - of course.

What did Jesus die to save us from?

Years ago I asked Him why not all I pray for are healed - the answer was immediate - if all were healed I would get proud... So when healing doesn't come it reminds us that it is of Him not us.

How to know : if you are going to Hell.

Mmmm... I would have thought it was obvious being transferred out of the Kingdom of Darkness into the Body of Christ and becoming part of the Priesthood of believers and being indwelled by Christ Himself was very different than the hopeless sinfull state of the unsaved.

How to know : if you are going to Hell.

Philippians 1:22 22 But if I am to live on in the flesh, this will mean fruitful labor for me; and I do not know which to choose.

How to know : if you are going to Hell.

I think the relationship between God and the unsaved is radically different than God and the saved. We should keep these two groups separate in the discussion. Salvation of the unsaved is about God choosing, not free will. Reward for obedience among the saved is about free will.
