    Is anyone else a Seer?

An undertone on this thread is that folks are to be hesitant about sharing what they believe God has done in their lives for risk of being deemed deceived. For a start many folks are unaware of what God does in lives when they are faced with a power encounter on the 'edge of the kingdom'...

    Is anyone else a Seer?

So John did not see into the future when He was given understanding of what was to unfold ? Maybe you should explain what you mean by seeing into the future... Do you think there is a difference between predicting the future and seeing into it? It worries me that you might declare that anyone...

    Is anyone else a Seer?

Not so - regularly prophets received a vision, not always words.

    Is anyone else a Seer?

Yes I relate to that experience. However there are plenty of biblical examples of the prophet accurately predicting events of the future. The Book of Revelation is a prime example and I can list many more...

    Is anyone else a Seer?

John had the 'gift' of seeing folks come to repentance. John was told in advance how to recognise the Messiah - the only one upon whom the Spirit would come upon and remain. Peter correctly predicted the death of Sapphira. However your point is well made that the main thrust of the Prophets...

Reader Poll - Where did the Bible come from?

I think a lot of the questions dissolve as we encounter Him. And yet this should be a collective exercise. I think the 'very elect' will not be deceived because they are in healthy fellowship in which unity grows and the gifts of discernment can operate and the prophetic voice is not muted...

I don't hear him saying that yet...

That's not my group. Yes agree.

Reader Poll - Where did the Bible come from?

In general terms yes, the problem with using the term 'exhaustive' is it implies for example to be a record of all Jesus said - which we know is untrue. Inerrant - applies to 'original' manuscripts, you suggest... Which manuscripts are 'original' ??? For me I am happy that God weaves His...

What do you mean by 'exhaustive' and which translation are you referring to ?

Friendly Bible Study - participants must agree to Nicene Creed.

Shucks - we could do with a bit of that on the forum. And a further proof that the Scripture without Him granting understanding is a closed book that can't be opened by the natural mind.

We will wait a few days for others to join in and comment. @Rita just wondering if you had time to view the video on the revival in Mexico I posted for background 'reading'

Thanks Rita for your thoughts. It is interesting that Jesus didn't disagree with their question about the Kingdom being restored to Israel - He just said that it was not for them to know when. Some think it is happening now but his doesn't sit well with me unless there is a massive revival...

Friendly Bible Study - participants must agree to Nicene Creed.

Nice thesis - thanks for your effort. Now many folks in this study are just needing to read the text prayerfully, and pondering on what He might be saying. It might be better to bring your good and interesting offering a little later in the piece when folks have had a chance to ponder for...

Friendly Bible Study - participants must agree to Nicene Creed.

OK so far so good - I wanted to establish a foundation before embarking on the Book of Acts. I have noticed that one of the most neglected parts of the NT is the beginning of Acts. I think this is because the cost is high to follow Him towards the 'first love' of the church that this section...

Genesis Interesting Find: from a "Chinese" reader perspective

Chinese people are descendants of one of the sons of Noah. Genesis 10:32 These are the families of the sons of Noah, according to their descendants, by their nations; and out of these the nations were separated on the earth after the flood. Also at Babel it is possible that not only were the...
