Getting drunk in the spirit "Biblically"

I agree with this BUT I do seek more understanding on behavior that is not edifying to the Church that members in a Church claim to be of the Spirit. Are these people allowing unclean spirits to have authority over the flesh? Some things I've seen on Youtube filmed at certain Churches are crazy...

Getting drunk in the spirit "Biblically"

I find it interesting that Naaman the Syrian in 2 Kings 5 who came to the prophet Elisha seeking healing of leprosy was healed by his faith in the one true God. He then believed. He was not circumcised, baptized, or had access to the OT manuscripts or teachings. He only asked Elisha if he could...

Christian Music going the way of the World. Sad

There is truth to what you're saying in some cases. If the worship music in any style is of the Spirit then I have no qualms but if the objective is pure entertainment and satisfying the artist's desires to emulate a rock concert or a rapper, I'm not buying. Some are trying to satisfy their own...

Getting drunk in the spirit "Biblically"

I think John is a good man and concerning the Gospel, I think he is faithful but I do not agree with some of his doctrines. In some cases, he cannot explain his position on certain Calvinistic beliefs fully and admits so. I do not think our differences regarding things like predestination...

    Purgatory True of False

I do not put any stock in denominations. I simply look at sound Biblical doctrine as the authority. You may in fact be a Catholic but that makes no difference to me. I would feel the same way regardless of what denomination you aligned with if your beliefs are outside of scripture. I see Mungo...

    Secure Eternal Salvation

All the things you mention here are true for those who maintain the faith. If you quench the Spirit and turn your back on God and no longer believe or do the many things Paul mentions you will not inherit the Kingdom. Paul is telling the Saints in the Church if they do those things they will not...

Getting drunk in the spirit "Biblically"

The only issue I have with John is his Calvinistic beliefs. I do not agree with his understanding of predestination, election, and free will.

I love you Mungo. Sometimes love hurts.

    Secure Eternal Salvation

If OSAS was in fact truth why was it necessary for Paul to rebuke and correct those Saints in the churches he planted? Why would Paul warn them of false prophets? Why would Paul warn them that certain behaviors would keep them out of the Kingdom? The argument will always be "well if one falls...

Everyone Pray for Key Pro-Life Battle in the Supreme Court!!!

Yes. This case is viewed as a possible line of thinking how the court views abortion and therefore the possible next step of overturning RVW.

Everyone Pray for Key Pro-Life Battle in the Supreme Court!!!

The Supreme Court this week is not looking at overturning Roe V Wade. That could happen sometime next year. They are currently going to rule on the Mississippi law recently passed in that state. We still need to pray for victory in this case and in future cases.

Christian Music going the way of the World. Sad

I recently visited a non denominational church. It was not a large church, maybe 100 in attendance. Not a lavish building mostly simple except the stage behind the pulpit. The music was contemporary with Colored lights, fog or mist machine. Minus the lyrics you would certainly think you were in...

Getting drunk in the spirit "Biblically"

I've always struggled with reconciling my own experiences growing up in the Assembly of God church and how I understand the scripture now. I will say that the AOG church of my childhood was what I would call low key Charismatic with no running around the pews, dancing or falling out in the floor...

Catholics again involved in smuggling criminals.

Romans 13:1 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. I agree that we do need an immigration Bill. I think those who cross our borders illegally should be sent...

    Why was there a reformation?

Galatians 4:16 Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

    Why was there a reformation?

You have it wrong. "You rely on you to convince yourself what the truth is" This statement is obvious you do not understand the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. We rely on the Holy Spirit for the truth. Not us, not ourselves. No need to rely on ourselves when the Holy Spirit speaks to you. In fact...

My concern is that you have been conformed to this world.

Living in Sin or just roommates who love each other?

When a man has sex with a woman in God's eyes this should be a union between those who love each other and are committed now into a true marriage (not the same as a legal wedding in our society today). The fact is a man can get a marriage license and marry a man these days. It's not the paper...

    Purgatory True of False

I don't think any of us can say for sure on these matters but to me, it sounds like, before Christ, those who were righteous went to Sheol. Sheol was divided by a "great gulf" into two places. Good & Bad. The prison Peter mentions I understand to be a different place that God cast those fallen...
