    Purgatory True of False

Galatians 1:6-9 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven...

I would be interested in knowing if there is any food that is unique to New Zealand, a nationwide popular dish.

    Purgatory True of False

Are your beliefs (doctrine) derived from anything other than the Holy Bible? Has God given the Church or the Pope additional doctrine and truths that Christians need to follow?

WE NEED TO BE BORN AGAIN.

Through faith (belief) the Holy Spirit was promoted and put in charge and my flesh was demoted. It's a battle and obedience to the word gives us strength to keep the flesh in check. It is all about a personal relationship, no corporate membership. You know when you have it, the Spirit will...

Living in Sin or just roommates who love each other?

Paul did give instructions concerning leadership in the Church 1 Timothy 3:8 Likewise deacons must be reverent, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy for money, Notice Paul does not say no wine.

Should conscription be mandatory for men?

Living in Sin or just roommates who love each other?

Many apply today's abuses of wine as reason enough for it to be sinful. Because Satan corrupts something it then becomes a sin for mankind. I see no issue with wine. I do see that drunkenness is a sin. Some would have you think that drinking a glass of wine is sending you straight to hell.

Living in Sin or just roommates who love each other?

I hear you loud and clear I just think you are taking what Paul is teaching out of context. Is it what is in a person's "mind" that is causing them to stumble or is it what someone is actually doing? I think God is so big that he knows if we are actually doing something that is truly causing...

Do You Know Naaman the Syrian in 2 Kings 5? Was he saved?

2 Kings 5 Naaman the Syrian appears to be another example of someone in the OT that found righteousness by faith alone. He was certainly healed by faith alone. Naaman was worried about the requirements his King demanded after Naaman believed that the only true God is the God of Isreal but the...

Living in Sin or just roommates who love each other?

In the OP nothing they are doing is remotely considered sinful. What makes it sinful for you is "the love" they have for each other. They love each other but not enough so to get married. That could be for a multitude of reasons (in this scenario they are old and not doing the things most...

    Let's talk about Salvation

John the Baptist never saved anyone with water. Acts 19:1-5. Jesus never baptized anyone. Paul said he did not come to baptize. John the Baptist did say that Jesus would come to baptize in the Holy Spirit. The debate about water baptism will not end until the Rapture. I think water baptism and...

    Let's talk about Salvation

No matter how many times you add things to salvation Romans 10:9 is not false. Those who walk in the Spirit seek to please God in good works and obedience but those things are not bolt-on requirements for salvation. Do you wish to argue that Romans 10:9 is a lie and not true?

    Let's talk about Salvation

I'm with you, that would be a SUPER works-based attempt at Salvation. I think Christ first went to the prison 1 Peter 3:19 and then to Heaven in Spirit while his body was in the tomb. I think he went to Heaven to present himself to God the Father as the firstfruit. I don't think the thief was a...

    Let's talk about Salvation

Throughout the Bible are scriptures directly answering the question of salvation and the centerpiece is faith (belief). Cornelius was saved and filled with the Holy Spirit before he got wet.

    Let's talk about Salvation

I can agree, none are false if understood in context and time.

    Let's talk about Salvation

There is a reason Paul uses Abraham as an example of faith. Abraham was before the law. The Jews then were still tangled up with the law as many works-based believers are today. Those who insist that water baptism and doing the hokie pokie are required for salvation need a chiropractor after...

    Let's talk about Salvation

They think God needs help in our salvation. The cross and our faith is not sufficient. We must perform rituals to finish God's plan. They need to execute some form of self-righteousness to help Christ out. Our works and ordinances are evidence of our salvation not requirements for salvation.
