those are beautifully told allegories.. Parables. Much Afraid was a shy, powerless, fearful girl who chose to follow the Shepherd. And He turned her into His Hero, His Champion. Read the story folks....it will inspire and bless you...I'd bet on it. :)

Addy, I think another good lesson is that God never sends enemies against us, that are too big for us to defeat. ;)

its important....its coming. Use your time on the back side of the wilderness, to worship Him. To know Him. War is coming. And if we know Him, we will be ready.

would David have known the Lord would empower his victory over Goliath, if he had not already faced down the lion and the bear? We don't know for sure. The Bible doesn't directly speak to that, but....I think not.

How did God train David? With blessing? Or battle? A lion, a bear, on the back side of the wilderness, God prepared David for the day God's victory over a mocker would come through David's hands....and He prepared him by by sending him enemies, a lion and a bear, to practice on.

1 Samuel 17:33-37 NKJV — And Saul said to David, “You are not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him; for you are a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.” But David said to Saul, “Your servant used to keep his father’s sheep, and when a lion or a bear came and took a lamb out...

....and a bear. Far from the eyes of those who would notice to honor him, or see the exploit at all...David killed a lion and a bear, with his bare hands.

out in the back 40, with all those sheep, in an atmosphere cultivated by worship, a lion came.

but notice something else as well. What the army, and his mocking elder brothers could not see about this skinny shepherd boy, was how God had prepared him for this day.
