    Salvation Through Baptism ???

From a drug derelict to a new creature in Christ through faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the baptism of the Holy Spirit..three months later I was water baptized. Are you saying I wasn't saved until three months after I came to Jesus and received a new nature through the new birth?

    Salvation Through Baptism ???

Reread my post. My point addressed the OP 'Salvation through Baptism?'. I addressed that point in relation to Paul. I never came close to saying we aren't to baptize. We are put into Christ and He dwells in us through faith in the Gospel. Baptism visibly portrays that fact.

    Salvation Through Baptism ???

Nope. 1 Corinthians 1:14-18 (KJV) I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius; Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name. And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other. For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to...

    Are Protestants "saved? "

When going after cherished idols, I like to hit at the feet (foundation)... Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces. (Dan 2:34) The Gospel comes in power and conviction (or it doesn't...

    Are Protestants "saved? "

umm, ok... Lu 12:46 The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. 1Co 6:6 But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers...

    Are Protestants "saved? "

We can't damn people to hell. That's ridiculous. We can only warn people about hell...do you warn them? Or would you rather mock those who do?

The biblical truth is a dialectical equation

God's Word is one Truth. It is fallen man looking at that Truth as through a dark glass that divides that Truth in their finite wisdom (as in the Calvin/Arminian debate) and then tries to find a unified truth between two seeming contradictory statements. Our Truth detector is broken but don't...

Can men with a mullet haircut be saved?

In the '60's a mullet would have been a sign of indecisiveness. You're either in or you're out, make up your mind.

The Ekklesia; called out ones; the Church

I've also experienced a lot of egos where each thought themself a prophet with mucho pseudo spirituality. There is a balance.

Do we even have the correct definition of "saved?"

I would say there is not one single iota of a thing we can do that can add to what has already been done (His death and resurrection), is doing (His present intercession for us) and will do (His rescue) and we can also throw in the indwelling Holy Spirit, the new nature imparted and His precious...

Do we even have the correct definition of "saved?"

Sorry, I don't eisegete Scripture. In any case, if you have no assurance that you are saved, how much more 'stuff' will you need 'to do' before you are assured of salvation?

Do we even have the correct definition of "saved?"

That passage in context is in comparison with those who deny that Jesus has come in the flesh...context, context, context. yes, there is the natural mind which twists verses to it's own destruction and then there are those who are born again who are taught by the Spirit...but these are already...

Do we even have the correct definition of "saved?"

Although we can know what God has promised for our future... John 5:24 KJV [24] Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

Do we even have the correct definition of "saved?"

I did. Why would that make you surer? God's Word is the surer thing.

Do we even have the correct definition of "saved?"

Yes, I meant you personally. Odds of our salvation don't go down. As long as Jesus is reigning, His promises are sure. Maybe you have a small hope because you have a small god or because you are putting your trust in man that cleverly disguises themselves as a god.

Do we even have the correct definition of "saved?"

I'm saved. On account of Jesus Christ. All glory to Him. No conundrum here.
