    LOVE your enemies!

First of all, the word Satan means adversary. And the word "adversary" means enemy. So it's just ignorant to say that Satan isn't our enemy. But it would be taking the scriptures out of context to say that when Jesus said to love our enemies, He meant we should love Satan. I think sometimes you...

    Charity/Offerings

I think it's crazy to think it's wrong to give to charities that are helping people. But I also think you brought up a good point. Why do people think it's ok to give to charities that don't promote God, but they get all upset about the idea of giving money to ministries that are trying to reach...

    Joyce Meyer at Lakewood

The moral of this story is that if you have a famous teacher or preacher that you look up to, don't post it here, or the wolves will rip you apart. :D I agree with most of what Foreigner says in this post. I understand that to reach the masses in today's world, it takes money and a lot of time...

How is it that in the beginning in Genesis 2 when God created the 1st Adam and Eden....

You're contradicting yourself. In one breath, you're talking about things not lining up with science and archaeology, then in another breath, you're saying that everyone descending from Adam & Eve or Noah promotes the theory of evolution, so it couldn't be true. Creationists don't believe in...

Attributes of ... THE TWO WITNESSES ... of Rev. 11

The Greek word is οὗτοι. It's a masculine word that just means "these" and it's referring to whatever preceded it. It could either be referring to people or things. In context, it's probable that "these men" would be a good translation. I'd say that like you mentioned, verse 10 is a good case...

Attributes of ... THE TWO WITNESSES ... of Rev. 11

It's pretty wild sounding, isn't it? Though, I think if they were some sort of dragon monster, it doesn't seem like they could be a real witness. I still think they are men with miraculous powers. Which verse is it in the 1984 NIV that says men? I'd like to see what the Greek texts say.

Attributes of ... THE TWO WITNESSES ... of Rev. 11

Someone on here claims to know who the witnesses are. I forget who it is, though.

Attributes of ... THE TWO WITNESSES ... of Rev. 11

I'm hoping that the rapture happens before the witnesses are here. :) Yeah, that's another thing I forgot to point out. The two reasons I think it will be Moses and Elijah are because they performed the same miracles, and they were the ones at the transfiguration. A lot of people believe it's...

Attributes of ... THE TWO WITNESSES ... of Rev. 11

I've heard the Enoch and Elijah thing, too. But I kind of lean toward Moses and Elijah because of their miracles. Moses turned water into blood, and Elijah stopped the rain. Also, Moses and Elijah kind of represent the law and prophets. I guess we'll find out when it happens. I knew a guy who...

    A Hard Command To Follow

You do realize that you quoted me, and not Arnie, right? I was saying that to prove a point. Of course I believe that Ephesians and Corinthians apply to us. I was telling Arnie that if John 15 doesn't apply to me because Jesus was speaking to the disciples and not directly to me, then none of...

    A Hard Command To Follow

First of all, if I viewed the entire Bible like what you're describing, then none of it would apply to me. The book of Ephesians was written to the church at Ephesus. 1 Corinthians was written to the church at Corinth, etc. But if you want to take things into context, then it's good to take...

    A Hard Command To Follow

Amen. It's kind of ironic that one of the quickest places to go to get hated on is a Christian forum. Maybe Jesus even wants Christians to look past their theological differences and love one another. ;) And it's true that sometimes love hurts. But let's make sure our focus and motive is the...

How is it that in the beginning in Genesis 2 when God created the 1st Adam and Eden....

Great post. Genesis 1 was a summary of the entire creation story. In chapter 2, we go back into a more detailed, personal account of the creation of man. Plus, it appears to me that the only plants that were created after man was the garden. Also, I agree with ZebraHug that Genesis was written...

What did Jesus write in the sand

I was going to be the instigator and say that it wasn't in the original documents, but Guestman beat me to it. :D Nevertheless, I do personally believe the event happened, anyway. But I'm with aspen2 in that God's finger isn't limited to just writing the 10 commandments just because one place...

Pay Your Tithe OR Spend Eternity In Hell?

I'm not going to waste my time arguing with people who think that all churches are evil. I'm done now.

Pay Your Tithe OR Spend Eternity In Hell?

Wow. Axehead, you've had some bad experiences with churches, and I'm sorry you've had to go through that. I've never been a part of any church that resembles what you are describing, and I never would be. Not every church out there is money hungry and constantly thinking about the coin. There...

    Into Africa

Fair point. The Catholic Church is pretty weird when it comes to that. It's ok to smoke and get drunk, but it's not ok to take birth control.

    Into Africa

That's probably true, but you can't get much more conservative than Pope Benedict. His whole goal was to make sure the Catholic Church didn't become liberal.

Pay Your Tithe OR Spend Eternity In Hell?

I totally agree with that. We need to get past our theological differences and love each other as brothers and sisters in Christ. I can disagree with some of your peripheral beliefs and still love you. What matters are that our core beliefs are the same. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the...
