Why do so many Americans take and support recreational drugs these days?

But Truman, my brother -- Some drugs are NOT illegal. For example, marijuana was legalized in Canada -- and I think other recreational drugs are also being discussed in both the U.S. and Canada. So should Christians try to oppose that or not?

    Death penalty.

The problem is that Democrats could use this kind of argument against Republicans -- How can you be "pro-life", for example, if you are literally at the same time for the "death" penalty of already born and breathing human beings? (Although I think, for a Western country, there are actually...

What should Christians think of UFOs and alien abductions?

That's interesting. Have you or anyone you've known experienced anything related to these "aliens", like UFO sightings for example? Has anyone here on this forum at all experienced anything paranormal of that kind?

Did Columbus trade slaves and commit genocide

In truth, he probably did commit crimes from our modern perspective, and I understand why many criticize him. Nevertheless, I don't think we should try to judge or hate anyone for what they did in the past, that is not the way of a true Christian, even if we do not have to glorify or excuse them...

US Supreme Court 5-4 Allows Ban On Abortions In Texas, After Heartbeat Is Detected

Then do you think it would be better for it to return to the states? For example, simply allowing each state's population to decide via referendum, on whatever their people think is best? For example, if most Texans want abortion banned, then all right, but if most Californians disagree, then...

What should Christians think of UFOs and alien abductions?

In American society and culture, sightings of UFOs and reports of being abducted at night aboard flying saucers have been widely reported by hundreds of thousands of people. In the past, when I was younger, I read several accounts of such incidents, and they were quite disturbing, if indeed not...

    Death penalty.

"In an interview with Christian Today last year during a visit to the UK to celebrate the YMCA's 175th anniversary, Claiborne said Christians should embrace a consistent life ethic in which they "stand for life from womb to tomb". "We like to say that we are pro life, but we have defined that...

Question: What convinces you that the Bible is from God?

I suppose, in the end, it is a personal matter of faith -- of the "heart", so to speak. No amount of logic and secular reason can persuade a true believer otherwise, nor can they properly explain the reasons for believing in something so far beyond this world.

US Supreme Court 5-4 Allows Ban On Abortions In Texas, After Heartbeat Is Detected

Okay, I'm not the most well-read on this issue. But how is abortion, like, outlawed in Texas, legally, in spite of Roe v. Wade? I mean, what is the legal basis for the heartbeat bill? I mean, for example, could every state rule that way, theoretically at least, given this precedent?

Have any of you considered leaving the United States?

Have you considered a third party perhaps? Perhaps the Libertarians or the Green Party? I think the two-party system itself is almost obsolete at this point. Most Americans dislike both parties to some extent. Support for Third U.S. Political Party at High Point

Why do so many Americans take and support recreational drugs these days?

You have no idea, my friend, how increasingly popular drugs are among young Americans, especially the irreligious ones. And it both troubles and saddens me, quite immensely so, but I also feel helpless to stop them. I think drugs are more than just physical substances, but they are also in...

Do you think "Near-Death Experiences" (NDEs) are valid or not? What should Christians make of them?

I do think if they can at least sway SOME atheists, they have positive points - I mean, perhaps an atheist who hears about a NDE might learn and research more about religion, begin pondering the mysteries of life and death...

Why do you vote for abortionists?

How do they enforce that though? I mean, do you get fined or something?

Have any of you considered leaving the United States?

Well, there are decent Christians among Democrats also, and independents also. I myself am not affiliated with any political party (at the moment), and I am just somewhat tired of all the political bickering, the hatred between everyone is so overwhelming. I don't want a war. I just want peace...

How do you think Christians should interact with Mormons?

I don't think that the LDS Church necessarily was inspired by "lower" things per se - but I do think there are significant differences between the teachings of the Book of Mormon and mainstream Christianity. But this confuses me, and I am not the most expert theologian myself - because most...

Do you respect and admire the Amish people and their way of life?

At least their young people still cling to faith and Christianity. That is more than can be said in other communities. Christianity has seriously declined a LOT in many parts of the United States. I also yearn for a disconnect with technology sometimes. At least with some kinds of technology...

Do you think the two-party system and the Electoral College should be reformed or abolished?

Which party is more popular these days? Which issue do they disagree about, abortion or anything like that? Does your nation have universal health care?

Do you respect and admire the Amish people and their way of life?

Have you considered such, my friend? A monastery? I mean, I wish I could live in one sometimes (perhaps because I've lived in very urban and populated areas in the past, the noise and chaos can be overwhelming to anyone, not just Christians). The Amish seem so happy. So laid-back and relaxed in...

The West (Not Just America) Is Being Destroyed By The Left--NOT LEFTISTS

I do think America has declined significantly, morally and spiritually. Whether we can paint the "left" with a broad brush is something debatable - but it does seem that most of the hostility towards Christianity and religion in general does come from one side of the political spectrum rather...

Have any of you considered leaving the United States?

I think should ever use balance and discernment, in all things and all ways. I mean, America today...I really have NO idea what we will be in 50-100 years time. I mean, if you look at history, ancient civilizations who went against God's laws were usually swept away and destroyed, until almost...
