The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Are you saying believers can't drink alcohol and/or smoke? Is so, which verse says that?

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Does you church contain any sinners? Or are they all perfect and faultless? What about you? If you are perfect and faultless, go ahead, keep throwing those stones.

Complete nonsense. You have no idea what you're talking about. However, when it comes to hating God's one true Church, you are clearly an expert.

justbyfaith is an expert "cherry picker"! Any verses that don't fit his junk theology, he simply ignores or flat-denies or contradicts. And the verses he does use are usually amateurishly misinterpreted and taken out-of-context with the rest of Scripture.

    ...being justified by grace...

Good points. Obedience is a constant theme throughout the entire Bible and God has demanded obedience from us from the very beginning - even before the Fall, Adam and Eve were commanded to not eat from that tree. The importance of obeying God commandments cannot be underestimated. Re "modern...

    ...being justified by grace...

You haven’t figured out yet that a verse like that is not meant to be read literally? If you read it literally, then of course it isn’t true! That verse is referring to the PROMISE of eternal life, but that promise is CONDITIONAL. Only Christ can judge if those conditions have been met and...

So presumably, faith that doesn’t produce works is dead (as James 2:26 says), right? If so, it seems to me that you’re contradicting yourself. How can you say works aren’t required when faith is dead and non-salvific without them? If works are not required, you are left with faith alone. So...

Do you realize what you’re arguing here? You accuse me of contradicting Romans 4:6 … simply because I quoted James 2:24. So, in effect, you’re saying James 2:24 contradicts Romans 4:6! If James 2:24 contradicts Romans 4:6, then clearly, there must be something seriously wrong with your...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

What are you talking about? To any Catholic, and especially a priest, Christ IS their religion.

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

I'm probably getting off-topic here, but my understandi is Calvinism says Jesus died only for those who are predestined to be saved. If that is so, doesn't the following verse contradict that doctrine? "He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Which Scripture says "Thou shalt not choose to be celibate"? And what's that the apostle Paul said about celibacy being an honourable condition? And didn't he say a married man is divided between His wife and God, whereas a single man is not divided?

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Which verse says "Thou shalt not smoke"? Or did you just invent another man-made tradition? Priests are not perfect - they're sinners too. How many Christians would be willing to take vows of poverty and celibacy and devote their whole lives to the service of Christ, as Catholic priests do?

    ...being justified by grace...

No human being can possibly know in this life that they are eternally saved. Mainly because we are not saved until after we die and are judged by Christ, who then grants us that eternal life. So if you know now that you are already assured of eternal life in Heaven, you must be God (or at...

    ...being justified by grace...

That’s true - Abraham’ faith was reckoned to him for righteousness, but this doesn’t mean he was justified by FAITH ALONE. James 2:22 says Abraham’s “faith was completed by works”, so Abraham was justified by faith and works, not by faith alone. James 2:24 then says “a man is justified by...

    ...being justified by grace...

What works by Christ are do you mean? In that case, why does James 2:24-26 say “a man is justified by works and not by faith alone” and “faith without works is dead”? It is true that no man will ever be justified by WORKS ALONE. That is a different kettle of fish entirely to FAITH AND WORKS...

    ...being justified by grace...

What happens if faith doesn't produce good fruit/works? You have dead faith, right? In other words, faith alone is dead faith that doesn't save - so salvation requires faith and works, whichever way you look at it.

    ...being justified by grace...

You’ve just flat-out contradicted James 2:24, which clearly says we are justified “NOT by faith alone”. Denying Scripture is a sure-fire recipe for false doctrine and false Christianity. What are you talking about? What does being justified “before man” have to do with anything? Do you know...

    ...being justified by grace...

Actually, it's through abiding in Christ, which is faith and works - James 2:24-26, Rev 14:12.
