Is It Christian To celebrate Birthdays?

We had a birthday tradition for the children. My wife baked a cake and I would ask them what scene they wanted me to decorate it with. I was sorry to see them get big for I enjoyed it as much as they. All traditions are not evil nor anti Christian. As brother Paul said I am convinced that...

Escape from the city of Lost

There's not enough edification. I was surprised to find how many don't want edification. Their only satisfaction is in convincing others or trying to, that they are right on some point or other. They never encourage or build up. Unless they generate strife and mendacity they get no satisfaction...

Escape from the city of Lost

No need for PM. What I believe is fixed! I've always believed that he was speaking of water from the natural birth process. Many commentaries including Swaggart's, agree.. Certainly man is never born of any other water...without being truly born again first water baptism is just a good or bad...

Escape from the city of Lost

My belief on baptism is ensconced in the text. I was born again way before I was water baptized. About three months I think. I avoid ALL fights about water. Water baptism, bottled water, agricultural use of water etc.

Escape from the city of Lost

Truthfully I never thought of that! I saw an old man carrying a heavy load in my spirit and went from there. There are journeys from several cities that can be taken. Journey from the city of Baptiso, journey from the city of Scribes, journey from the city of Pharisees... Etc.

Escape from the city of Lost

Not in ages. This is something placed on my heart by the Holy Spirit in the past few days.

Escape from the city of Lost

Continued from above... The old man sat down on the ground with his head bowed. Though he was silent tears flowed down his face wetting his white beard as he wept without a noise. The detailed remembrance of his sins seemed as if they would break his heart. Such weariness and hopelessness he'd...

Escape from the city of Lost

The clay and gravel mountain trail was long and winding. Woods on either side shaded it partly, then from place to place it entered grassy rolling hills, rising and falling across the ridges. Those that lived in that wilderness often called it the path of life. They said that for many it would...

    Veterans

As to veterans. Friends, neighbors and family have served. Thanks to all. John Henry "henny" Bewley. Boyhood friend. Died after returning from Vietnam. Henny had a great laugh I'll never forget. Sgt Ralph "Butch" Bolander. Army Rangers Vietnam. Lost a leg. A good friend and neighbor. Mike...

Believers stay righteous through their obedience

why would you say that? I'm not "inferring" anything at all. This was written to those that began to practice Jesus plus. Denominations are built on Jesus plus their private interpretations. As the retrospective writer of Hebrews stated, with obvious remorse. Hebrews 12:1 KJVS Wherefore...

Believers stay righteous through their obedience

I was saved before I experienced either baptism. I was a brand new creation and couldn't identify with anything from my previous life. That was 41 years ago.

Believers stay righteous through their obedience

We have a family member that belongs to a denomination that is very big on works. He always boasts of the good deeds they, are doing. Sadly neither he nor his family to my knowledge, are born again Christians. Their church and traditions are all they speak of, and NEVER EVER about Jesus. They...

Believers stay righteous through their obedience

Paul, sent to the church, all the church, was referring to works of the law which were clearly stated to be a schoolmaster to instruct us, all of us, that the law, is unkeepable. The law indeed is works of the flesh. Vain offerings, routines, traditions and rituals. By grace are you saved...

Believers stay righteous through their obedience

Galatians 3:2-3 KJVS This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? [3] Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

    ACTS 9 THEY HEARD NOT

They heard not because God was not speaking to them. Nothing to do with languages. The scripture doesn't say they heard but didn't understand. They HEARD NOT. When God speaks to me everyone else in the room doesn't know it. If God had wanted the others to hear they would have heard. But he did...

    God's Simple Blessings

King snakes are good neighbors. They kill rattlers. Black snakes are the only nonpoisonous snake I kill. They'll eat every egg and baby chick you have. Came into the chicken house one day to see a six footer with a chick in its mouth. I whacked him and he let it go. I've had them take two turns...

    God's Simple Blessings

Couldn't shoot it being on the engine. Had to fish it out then kill it. We've killed others some bigger. Wife saw one she said was a monster crawling across the rural road we live off of. She ran over it and it kept on going! She said it looked like a firehose and was at least ten feet in...

    God's Simple Blessings

Haha.. I was raised hunting squirrels. They are very thick here. Raised as a hunter I believe 1 Timothy 4:8. Chipmunks are cute... Until they get in your car and chew up $300 in wiring and your lights go out on the highway! We've lived in the forest for fifty years and engaged with snakes and...

    God's Simple Blessings

Living above a small river we notice annual migrations of the Sulphurs - yellow butterflies by the hundreds. Also hawks migrate down these waterways. Occasionally a bald eagle. Living up in the woods as we do there's always something to see or hear. I've attached a short video I took by game...
