Just for....those who, well, not just for some, but for all who would love God.

You've asked a lot of questions in that last post and I'll be glad to answer them, but I'd like to expand on this first if we could. Because I agree with you. What does it mean to 'bring harmony to disputes... to shepherd the flock' ? First and foremost imo it means this: 'And what you heard...

The 'Catholic faithful' are those who are in communion with the bishops of the Church and thus with the community of the apostles, they are those who hold fast to the full 'deposit of faith delivered once for all'.. 'others who believe in Christ' would be these: "So then not all are in the...

I wonder where this might lead...

I think its astounding that our children can be manipulated to the point that they are now trying to shame us into kowtowing to the UN agenda... Blood will flow... Lion of Judah, defend us!

It applies to the apostles and to the presbyters who received that authority through the laying on of hands. we've already looked at many. Titus showed that they receive the authority to ordain other presbyters. hebrews showed us that they have the authority to 'watch over us'. The council...

um, that is what I have been saying! God ordained the apostles, and through the apostles other men (by the laying on of hands) and that is how authority has always been passed on in the Church. The living witness of all the ancient apostolic churches testify to this. Peace!

The Church is ONE all who are saved through Christ belong to it. 1213 Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit (vitae spiritualis ianua), and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as...

No. I'm stating that the authority to manage 'the vineyard' was taken from the Pharisees and given to the apostles by Jesus! And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are...

Have you been baptized? Do you wish to be? If you have received the new birth then yes you are a part of the Catholic Church, even if not formally so. From the CCC: Who belongs to the Catholic Church? 836 "All men are called to this catholic unity of the People of God.... and to it, in...

In addition to those from Jude, Titus and Hebrews, which I have already posted: Acts 14:23 They appointed presbyters for them in each church and, with prayer and fasting, commended them to the Lord in whom they had put their faith. And of course there's the letters to Timothy which are...

That High Priest gave authority to His apostles and through them to the bishops and presbyters. It is rejecting that authority (which is Christ's authority working through them!) and especially rejecting that authority in saying 'who are ____ and ____ that they should rule over us? Are we not...

Did Jesus come to destroy religious practices or to perfect them? As for the pharisees, of course there are similarities. They had legitimate authority as Jesus pointed out when He told His disciples ' do all they tell you for they sit in Moses' seat'. But He also told the pharisees that care...

?? Korah clearly holds an assembly against Moses and Aaron questiong their authority, to read that verse otherwise does violence to the text. Exodus 19:6 You shall be to me a kingdom of priests, a holy nation. That is what you must tell the Israelites So you see Korah is not wrong in saying...

I believe we have already begun. ;) Im saying that since Titus appointed their elders, the Cretens had a duty to submit to them. Ill be glad to answer that question, when we have agreed that the bishops and presbyters have been given authority... When have I said that? Rather, I agreed...

I am pointing out that Jude warns us of the rebellion of Korah, therefore there must be a parallel of what Korah did to what some Christians did. So lets look at what Korah said: Num 16:3 and held an assembly against Moses and Aaron, to whom they said, "Enough from you! The whole community...

Amos 3.3, a thoughtful verse: "Can two walk together, except they be agreed?"

You misunderstand, it is not cannibalism, It is the conjugal union of the Groom and His bride.. The two made one flesh... Peace!

Hi marks, I could give you many verses that say otherwise but let's start with this from Jude: Woe to them! They followed the way of Cain, abandoned themselves to Balaam's error for the sake of gain, and perished in the rebellion of Korah. If no one has spiritual authority over another, how...

yes The Spirit certainly calls us to that unity, and to preserve and build up that unity. And that unity is effected and empowered here: The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of...
