    The Gospel Plus Nothing

That was the belief of the Pharisees. Obedience is not motivated by laws, rules or religion. It is motivated by love.

Jesus: God with us and God for us

Anything in the Bible that tells us to do something or not to do something is law. James wanted to circumcise Gentile believers. James was the head of the church in Jerusalem, Acts 15:1. Paul and Barnabas argued with James and the other Judaizers about this, Acts 15:2 James relented, Acts...

RELIGION: An Indication of the Absence of Faith

I am afraid not. God works through those that love him and his Son Jesus Christ.

    The Gospel Plus Nothing

If one is doing good works because Jesus commanded them to, they are doing it for the wrong reason. Obedience is motivated by love, not laws and commandments. A good son does not need to be told to obey his father. A good son will obey his father because he loves him and would never do anything...

Jesus: God with us and God for us

James places to much emphasis on works. Christians will do good works because they are indwelt with the Holy Spirit, Ephesians 2:10. They don't do good works to be saved. They trust in the work that Jesus did. The twelve tribes that James wrote to were law keeping Jews, not Gentile Christians...

RELIGION: An Indication of the Absence of Faith

All religions are based upon laws and works and not grace. Religion refuses to acknowledge the New Covenant of grace and faith and that the Old Covenant of rules, laws and religion has been abolished, Ephesians 2:15, Colossians 2:14. The Morman religion is not of the faith. They do not...

Jesus: God with us and God for us

The rest is that we cease from our own works (Religion) and rest in his work, Hebrews 4:9-10. Jesus has done it all and he did it perfectly.

    The Gospel Plus Nothing

There is no doctrine in the book of James like there is in Paul's epistles. The Bible is an honest book it does not hide the sins and the mistakes of God's people. I am sure that James came into to a full understanding of the Gospel and justification by faith at a later date.

    The Gospel Plus Nothing

James was the head of the church in Jerusalem. There were many Judaizers in the early church, James was one of them. A Judaizer is one that believes in Jesus, but also believes that you must keep the law of Moses, there are many Judaizers on this Forum. Under the New Covenant the law of Moses...

Pope embraces Islam. Calls it Chrislam

I don't have a point. I have a fact. The fact is that the pope has embraced Islam, which is a Christ denying religion.

    The Gospel Plus Nothing

My take is that many Christian scholars believe that the book of James should not have been included in the cannons. 1. The book of James was not directed to Gentile Christians, it was directed to law keeping Jews, James 1:1. 2. James sent men to spy on Peter and Barnabas to see if they were...

    The Gospel Plus Nothing

Jesus said, "Beware of men" Matthew 10:17. I try everything in the light of the "Historical Gospel of Jesus Christ" If it isn't according to the Gospel and justification by faith apart from the works of the law, I scrap it.

The Wonderful Works of God, Acts 2:11

In the Gospel which is "The wonderful works of God" we have been justified, sanctified and redeemed, 1 Corinthians 1:30. And now stand before God as perfect and complete "In Christ" Colossians 2:10. Few there be that believe that. Jesus said, "Few there be that find it" Matthew 7:14. Most...

    The Gospel Plus Nothing

All that we will ever know about God has been revealed to us in Jesus Christ. Jesus is the epitome of God the Father. In him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead, Colossians 2:9.

    The Gospel Plus Nothing

The pope is a man, born after Adam who was a sinner, Romans 5:12. The apostle Paul said, "There is NONE righteous, no, not one" Romans 3:10. There are no holy men except for Jesus Christ.

    The Gospel Plus Nothing

Jesus is the stumbling stone and the rock of offense. People love their religion because religion is about them. The Gospel is not about us, the Gospel is about Christ. His life, his death, his resurrection. This is why salvation is by grace through faith, Ephesians 2:8.

Pope embraces Islam. Calls it Chrislam

What's the big fuss? It is common knowledge that the pope is trying to bring all religions together under the umbrella of the Catholic church, even cults that do not believe that Jesus is the Christ.

    The Gospel Plus Nothing

The Holy Spirit is in the world calling everyone to come to Christ. "God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" John 3:16. I have never found anyone that does not know that Jesus died on the cross for...

Pope embraces Islam. Calls it Chrislam

The only thing that resembles Catholicism is Pharisaism. All religions are based upon law. Law is what religious people do. Paul said, "Therefore, by the deeds of the law (what we do) no flesh will be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin" Romans 3:20. Paul also said...

    The Gospel Plus Nothing

Not really. A universalist believes that everyone is going to be saved regardless of what they believe. I believe that Jesus has provided salvation for everyone, Hebrews 2:9. However, nothing is ours until it is received by faith, Ephesians 2:8.
