    What is faith?

I dont think anyone has argued that grace does not cover all sins. What we are talking about is how one responds to grace and the sanctifying power of God's grace and Spirit in a person's life, not the efficacy of grace. There is a difference.

ANALYSIS OF MATTHEW 24:12-13 - WHY IT DISPROVES OSAS

Thanks for your response. I wont made a lot of additional comments since you seem willing to let the stuff already discussed pass. I am content with that as well. I would just be curious about your definition of freedom as the will is concerned. What constitutes freedom? Isnt our being...

Were there many epistles to the Corinthians?

I guess anything is possible in what might have been mentioned in the material we dont have :). I guess the important thing is that the Holy Spirit didnt see fit to make it available to us for one reason or another. However, my personal view is that the "restrainer" is God and the "man of...

If machine guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have machine guns

So you are saying people should be able to roam the streets with machine guns? I dont believe that is currently legal.

    What is faith?

Richard, you act as if I am being unreasonable and my condemnation of your views is based on my own personal biases. You have basically discredited large sections of the NT and argued that James was in error and that much of the NT was included by a legalistic church that didnt understand the...

ANALYSIS OF MATTHEW 24:12-13 - WHY IT DISPROVES OSAS

FHII, I think the problem you are having is with your definition of "free will." It seems you want to define freedom in an absolute sense, which is never what I, or any other proponent of free will would contend for. Genuine freedom is not the capacity to choose anything. If that were the...

    What is faith?

So let me get this straight... The teaching of Jesus does not apply to us.. The teaching of Peter does not apply to us... The teaching of James does not apply to us... The teaching in Hebrews does not apply to us... The first four books of the NT were written to Jews... The teaching of John...

    What is faith?

““Therefore the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who wished to settle accounts with his servants. When he began to settle, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents. And since he could not pay, his master ordered him to be sold, with his wife and children and all that...

    Christian Discipleship

Paul and Peter did not have opposing messages. Peter affirmed Paul's message and vice-a-versa... “And count the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you according to the wisdom given him, as he does in all his letters when he speaks in them of...

    Christian Discipleship

Richard, Although we disagree, I thank you for the conversation. I would simply conclude by pasting a few texts where Paul explains clearly the "mystery" that he proclaimed. As I see it, it has nothing to do with a separate or distinct Gospel, but how the Gospel unifies the Gentiles and Jews...

The Vital Importance Of Forgiving Others

I am not sure I agree, Dan. Jesus forgave those who were crucifying him while they mocked him. Steven forgave the men who were stoning him. Yes, we should forgive repeatedly when people ask us to, but we should also forgive those who do not ask for forgiveness. The reality is, most people...

Do Christians have to forgive everything no matter how bad the sins?

Coti, Thanks for your inquiry. Here are my thoughts. Yes, Christians must forgive every sin. God calls us to forgive in the same ways we desire forgiveness. Jesus taught us to pray, "Forgive our sins as we forgive those who sin against us." So, if you want God to forgive every sin of...

Were there many epistles to the Corinthians?

Yes, Paul wrote at least one previous letter to the Corinthians that we do not have (which would make 1 Corinthians actually 2 Corinthians or maybe even 3rd. Haha) He also wrote other letters we do not have, such as a letter to the church of Laodicea.... “And when this letter has been read...

    Christian Discipleship

No, and a neutral reader also said as much. I think you need to do some more study. Luke was a Gentile writing to "theophilus" which is a Greek name for "lover of God." Could have been a Greek person or a term that was generic for people who love God. John has an evangelistic focus and is...

If machine guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have machine guns

I understand. I think the argument from those who want restrictions is that if we restrict the ability to get these machine guns, then it will help keep them out of the hands of criminals (and thus law abiding citizens would have no need for them). Besides, how many people with private carry...

If machine guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have machine guns

I agree with you that evil is the problem. However, a person with an assault rifle and 30-shot clips can murder 50 innocent people in about 2 minutes. Most police officers do not even carry that kind of weaponry. The argument is against people having and stockpiling weapons that were made for...

If machine guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have machine guns

Yeah, I dont think anyone is saying no one should have the right to have a gun. What they are asking for is tighter restrictions on who can get a permit and what types of weapons should be accessible. Why does someone need a semi-automatic assault rifle with a 30 shot banana clip? I mean, why...

ANALYSIS OF MATTHEW 24:12-13 - WHY IT DISPROVES OSAS

FHII, Sorry for the slow reply. Been a busy weekend. I dont see a problem with that. Pharaoh had free will. When he hardened his heart, God responded by hardening him further. That is part of God's judgment for his own glory. Yet Pharaoh initiated it by his own rebellion. In the same way...

    Christian Discipleship

Do you even know what the commands of Jesus are? Pitting the Bible against itself is pure heresy. It makes you the arbitrator of what is right and wrong...what you will accept and what you wont...rather than being subject to God and His Word.
