    DAY OF THE LORD

If you go to Revelation and do a search for 'those who dwell upon the earth', or the phrases very much like it, you'll see that every time its used its in conjunction with the unbelievers world-wide, those who are, or about to, experience God's wrath. Therefore, I'd say in this particular...

    Increasing depravity...a sign?

Snort...now there's an image...Luther nailing to the door not his thesis, but images of what he "approved of" as appropriate swimwear!! History might have gone a little differently then, huh?

Sydney dementia! They seem incapable...no, worse...they recoil in horror, at the thought of living outside of Sydney! they wonder at the sanity and intelligence of those who live outside Sydney! For them, life doesn't exist outside Sydney! It's actually a little bit like Flat-earthers...its an...

    Increasing depravity...a sign?

Totally...the sad fact is that those who tend to make a big deal about 'modesty' are staunch legalists. Not that modesty is inherently bad, but as you say, there seems to be a type who focus on that type of thing, and it's a symptom of their lack of understanding the gospel. "All things are...

Well...anyone who lives in Sydney thinks anything outside of Sydney is a backwater pit. It's a form of dementia that I haven't figured out...especially considering the city itself. I'm not sure who'd want to live there, personally, especially the clear dementia it seems to infect people with. :P

I think that might be a maths/graph reference...so I'm just going to nod wisely like I know what you're talking about and back away slowly.

    Increasing depravity...a sign?

I will pray for you! I find s/a to be so very strange. Some days it totally incapacitates me, others it doesn't bother me at all. It's those wonderful days where I find I can just head to Church and chat without stress with people there, that I think "this is a foretaste of heaven!" That will be...

Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

Well...not sure it had anything to do with her femininity. I'd say it was more an aesthetic, arty thing, for her, she's quite creative and stylish, and she was just growing into her faith. I expect she was keen to make a bit of a 'statement', to herself and others, by it.

    Increasing depravity...a sign?

Absolutely! In fact, I just replied to farouk in #56 with this basic idea: "I think we see a growing trend where people are not just ignoring scripture, but they rage against it. They want to prove it wrong! Prove it evil! Prove it ignorant and hateful! And how do they do that? By living in a...

    Increasing depravity...a sign?

Is it more than that, however? Not just "does not pay attention to them", but thinks them foolish. I think we see a growing trend where people are not just ignoring scripture, but they rage against it. They want to prove it wrong! Prove it evil! Prove it ignorant and hateful! And how do they do...

Tell me about it. Alarming times.

    Increasing depravity...a sign?

Well...mostly I agree, but I think there are times when, as Christians, we need to be careful in what we wear. The vast majority of swimwear is fine, but some of them are clearly designed with a "look at my bootie" in mind, and I'm not sure that's the sort of message we want to be putting out there.

Oh goodness yes. It's much more spread out, less 'crammed', than the bigger cities...they built out, rather than up. And they've kept a lot of bush land in it. There are great big patches of national forest dotted throughout the City, so sometimes you wonder if you're still IN Canberra.

Well, we are the only Country stupid enough to eat the animal on our coat of arms....that ought to tell us something right there....

    Increasing depravity...a sign?

Oh, I had not heard that Spurgeon quote before, it's rather marvelous, isn't it? I often wish I could do...more, so much more, in this regard. But...I am somewhat socially retarded, and I do mean that in the proper use of the word. I struggle with social interactions and generally find it...

    Increasing depravity...a sign?

The thing that gets me is the over representation of homosexual scenes...you know they're saying "look how PC we are, how woke, how inclusive". Ug....talk about the need to fast-forward. I mean...fine...I recognize a non-Christian's right to choose such relationships...but I don't watch to...

    Increasing depravity...a sign?

I think you are absolutely spot on. I think that the current generation has not just been raised in comfort and plenty, they've also been taught from day one that they need to 'self love'. Ultimately, they grow up believing that they are WORTHY of every good thing coming to them. And when it...

    Increasing depravity...a sign?

Well...I tend to agree. I know some Christians who don't and I suppose it might be a conscience thing. But to my way of thinking, God speaks often of protecting children, and when you also factor in that God places a man as head of his family, I would argue he has a God-given duty to stand...

    Increasing depravity...a sign?

I'll say. I forget now who I was having the conversation with, but a few years ago I was chatting with someone here and we were talking about the 'birth pangs'. It was the year that America had those massive storms, one after another. Then there was that big earthquake in South America somewhere...

    Increasing depravity...a sign?

It is fairly "interesting" that the 'human rights' council at the UN is stacked with Countries that seem to violate human rights on an hourly basis. Blatantly, too. It does make a mockery of the label and the board.
