The Moral Law not Abrogated by Christ to Believers

I bet you believe that your past sins were forgiven when you were 'saved', but that you now have to keep the law to stay in GOD's favor. Am I correct?

    Was Mary sinless?

I think you're reading into it what you want to see. The fuller context of scripture doesn't support that view. The Greek word translated bend in Isaiah 45:23 is also found in 2 Kings 1:13 in the LXX. The captain wasn't worshiping Elijah; he was pleading for his life, which is an apt picture of...

    The Doctrine of OSAS

Nobody's sins have been taken away. That doesn't happen until the end of the age. The sins of Israel were covered over for the entire year, but weren't sent away until the end of the year on the day of atonement when they were placed on the scapegoat that was sent away into the wilderness. The...

The Moral Law not Abrogated by Christ to Believers

If you think men did not sin before there was law, I will leave you in your delusion. You're mixing law with grace. It doesn't work. It is a form of godliness that denies the power. You are either justified and perfected by grace, or by law. There is no middle ground. I truly believe you don't...

A message for those of you expecting to go to heaven

Jehovah's false witnesses are some of the worst of the worst.

The Moral Law not Abrogated by Christ to Believers

You're making that up. Paul said that sin is not imputed when there is no law, not that sin doesn't exist. Only a fool can say man has no sin. The sins that existed under the law were the same sins that exist(ed) before and after the law. You're completely lost if you think the law is the...

    The Doctrine of OSAS

The Greek word translated remission actually means freedom, as in being freed from bondage. G859 ἄφεσις aphesis (af'-es-is) n. 1. freedom I think there is a problem interpreting 'remission of sin' as 'a removal of sin', because any honest person knows sin dwells within his being. Even thinking...

    Was Mary sinless?

I did check the LXX before I posted. I wasn't surprised. I think that any enemy of Christ who is resurrected and brought before Jesus' throne will have no choice but to fully agree that he is lord. And as I said before, they will bow the knee in subjection, not worship.

The Moral Law not Abrogated by Christ to Believers

Precisely. People get so confused about this. That is correct. You're confusing sin with imputation and penalty of sin. Where there is no law, the penalty for sin is not imputed, but sin is still sin. We are not under the law of Moses; it is, figuratively speaking, written in our hearts...

    The Doctrine of OSAS

If it helps the discussion in any way, the Greek word translated willfully seems to have a slightly different meaning. Willfully seems to imply purposeful intent. Willfully G1596 ἑκουσίως hekousios (hek-ou-see'-ose) adv. 1. willingly, voluntarily This is the same adverb used in 1 Peter 5:2...

    The Doctrine of OSAS

I really don't have an opinion on the matter, but the scriptures seem to indicate that is not possible.

Step out on a limb...if you dare.

And you think most people on this board are off base concerning most scriptures?

The Moral Law not Abrogated by Christ to Believers

Christians don't believe in lawlessness. They obey the law of Christ, which supersedes the law of Moses.

    Was Mary sinless?

Yeah I just did. Did you read Luke 19:27? 'confess allegiance' is not an accurate translation of the Hebrew in your version of Isaiah 45:23. This is Paul's take on that Isaiah verse: For it is written, [As] I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess...

    Matthew 13's parables.

    The Doctrine of OSAS

There are two catches. The first is 'come and get it', and the second is 'hold onto what you've received'. Those who fail in either point lose it. It's not fine print, though, because it's plainly written in scripture.

I thought I made it clear that the Greek word for holiness is not that illuminating.

Do You Write In Your Bible?

Interesting. That site unfortunately doesn't mention the first English translation of the Septuagint (LXX) made in 1808 by Charles Thomson, Secretary to the first United States Congress. As bad as Catholic history has been for suppressing the bible, they have done some great modern...
