    The Doctrine of OSAS

Yet we have the doctrine of justification... I think we all agree it is the Spirit of God that justifies.

    The Doctrine of OSAS

Which one of these say salvation can be lost? Here is the NIV translation for the 1 Timothy passage... As for younger widows, do not put them on such a list. For when their sensual desires overcome their dedication to Christ, they want to marry. 12Thus they bring judgment on themselves...

    The Doctrine of OSAS

Barrd, Your quote tonight: That word "predestinated" bothers me. If God truly predestined a few people to be saved, that would mean that He purposely created the vast majority of people to suffer the torments of hell through eternity, which would make Him not a God of love, but a cruel...

    The Doctrine of OSAS

If we are being told in advance they will not be saved, how can they lose their salvation? We already know they will not be saved... Depart from the faith=leave the visible Church.

    The Doctrine of OSAS

Well actually the possession is paid in full, by the blood of Christ. Unless you don't believe this. So again it is more like saying I will pick up at a later date what is paid in full. Because no one translation is inspired or infallible. This is where you are wrong. I covered this in the post...

    The Doctrine of OSAS

I have not seen one passage that states or shows "salvation can be lost". You would first have to prove God intended on saving said person, then you would have to prove that person superseded God's will and authority. Neither have I seen any post from anyone that supports the idea the...

    The feetwashing

I have served in a prison, but I never washed an inmates foot let alone kiss it! LOL About the closest we are allowed to get is to shake hands. I guess being the Pope has its privileges...

    The Doctrine of OSAS

You make assertions without evidence...that is simply opinion my friend.

    The Doctrine of OSAS

I see I did not word the first question bullet proof... Does God save the apostate who remains apostate until they die would have been a better question...I digress. It is your In My Opinion I am interested in here really... Here is how Paul explains the process... 13 In Him, you also...

    The Doctrine of OSAS

I have never said God has not offered salvation to all. This is your straw-man. You did not answer the questions. Does God save those who go apostate? Does God in His omniscience seal anyone He knows will go apostate with His Holy Spirit until redemption?

    The Doctrine of OSAS

Augustine was among the first to affirm this doctrine...perseverance of the saints... Also I am not in disagreement. Those who are saved are those who endure to the end. Those who endure to the end are those who are saved. God does not save, nor does He begin saving those who do not endure...

    The Doctrine of OSAS

It's amazing that this discussion is still going on. There isn't a single passage of Scripture that teaches that one can lose salvation. Those who argue for it must draw inferences.

    The Doctrine of OSAS

The "expand on" was with your view of different hermeneutics. I am seeking clarity in what you meant through that statement. Let me try to boil this down some because I am still unclear on your position. Do you believe once a believer is sealed with the Holy Spirit, God allows that individual...

    The Doctrine of OSAS

I think the term apostate we agree upon. I simply would not use the term "lose salvation". I believe our hermeneutics agree, just not the way we use terminology. Maybe I am wrong here. Would you care to expand? For the short answer I do not affirm limited atonement. Unconditional election...

    The Doctrine of OSAS

Truly the POTS doctrine is irrefutable in its language. Concerning the OSAS doctrine, I do not know of clear language defining it. It seems to be up for grabs for antinomians and the like to latch onto. I do not see the possibility of the born again believer losing salvation. I like...

    Sabbath-Keeping

The Law was a tutor...love is the maturity...we are under grace not the Law...these are elementary principles

    Sabbath-Keeping

This is a false boast... One of your preconceived notions is you have to observe the Shabbat as a Christian. Also you have parrot answers concerning this Shabbat topic...tablets written in stone, 10 inside the ark mosaic covenant outside...blah, blah, blah... Those are all learned answers...

    Sabbath-Keeping

You don't seem to understand...the synagogue is where the people gathered...especially on the Shabbat... Here he had a receptive audience...Paul's purpose was preaching Christ crucified, not observing the Shabbat... News flash...Jesus, Paul and the rest of the apostles were Jews...! Jews...
