    Freedom To Sin?

Claims of 'complexity' rings false. You state "I am in agreement with the Catholic Church on Homosexual marriage" even as you are pushing to increase the very practice that the church opposes. A practice that if homosexuals embrace, will prevent them from ever being allowed to join your church...

    Visiting people in Prison

Our church has a very strong jail / prison outreach. The key is simply to listen. The opportunity to witness is key but can wait and will be better received if you simply just talk to them and establish a relationship. Let them talk about their past, their families, their concerns, their...

    Homosexuality

-- I actually do have one question. Why would a person who feels so strongly about something to the point of repeatingly sharing that stance in detail, then turn around and tell everyone on this board that they "are rarely serious?" Seems rather self-defeating...

    Freedom To Sin?

Yeah, it's pretty simple: 1. You claim to support your church's stance on gay marraige 2. You are shown to be doing just the opposite, actually proactively undermining it. 3. You try to justify it by using "ex cathedra" 4. You are shown in no uncertain terms where that doesn't wash and that...

Why you cant lose your salvation.

I agree with you when you say "So lets just keep this simple." You "Once Saved, Always Saved" people are in for a rude surprise when you stand face to face with God. Especially if your declarations on this subject lead to the loss of a soul who based their salvation opinion on your teachings.

    Homosexuality

-- Oh no, there is absolutely no question.
  7. F

    Freedom To Sin?

-- So, unless the Pope "is speaking ex cathedra it is just an opinion." And the Pope is somehow condemning homosexual marraige within the church......but NOT in the secular world? Uh huh..... And you feel that if the leader of your church voices a strong stance on what he believes is right and...

Majority of Mankind Will Perish -NC

-- But that still means He created people who did not ask to be created and who He knew would be condemned to eternal damnation.

    Freedom To Sin?

"I am in agreement with the Catholic Church on Homosexual marriage." - Aspen, 7/25 11:51am -- So the posts where you ask me a specific question are posts I am supposed to ignore? Gosh, I'm sure glad we cleared that one up :D .

    Real Faith

Actually, it is not unconditional love. I have spoken to a number who have questioned from within the tactics and tolerances (or lack thereof) within the homsexual community of those that do not agree with them unconditionally. I have also see how they treat people who attempt to leave that...

    Homosexuality

-- But not for falsely presenting what you said in previous posts in the very same thread.
  12. F

    Freedom To Sin?

-- Actually, no you can't. If you are actively encouraging and supporting a position that undermines that position of your church and your church's leadership, there is absolutely no way you can say with a straight faith that you are "remaining faithful to my church." At least not honestly...

    Real Faith

-- As far as homosexuality goes, there is only one specific thing that can be said: If you are indeed a homosexual, something somewhere went wrong. That seems rather strong, but whether you feel they were born that way due to "original sin" or because they were abused when they were young...

    Freedom To Sin?

Aspen, your statement: My response: You really have only four options here: 1. Reconcile your above statement with your multiple pro-gay marraige posts throughout this board 2. Walk your statement back claiming that you were misunderstood / misiterpreted, etc. 3. Claim, as you did yesterday...
  15. F

    Homosexuality

-- No, you said you are "rarely serious." Which means, by you own words, that anything you say on this board should rarely be taken seriously. I would tend to agree.
  16. F

    Homosexuality

So, when you say "I am serious about this".....you really aren't. And as far as rarely being serious, I remember you very angrily declaring that anyone who votes against gay marraige is violating their civil rights. There are also a number of times - if you were to be candid - that you were...
  17. F

    Freedom To Sin?

-- The Catholic church states that gay marraige is immoral and should remain illegal and the Pope - the leader of that church - has said that gay marraige will lead to the destruction of our society (I gave you the article pointing that out). -- If a position is based specifically on what the...

SHOOT TO KILL - the will to power

-- Saw a t-shirt (while I was in Oregon, no less) that said, "IF GUNS KILL PEOPLE, THEN SPOONS MADE ROSIE O'DONNEL FAT." I thought that was pretty accurate.
  19. F

    Freedom To Sin?

Aspen, everything you said is all well and good, but has little to do with what we are discussing. Your statement "I was Protestant for 20 years before becoming Catholic" really has no meaning since there are large groups within both protestants and Catholics that hold either strongly...

    Homosexuality

-- I feel bad saying this - and I know you won't care in the least - but when you say things like that I actually feel sorry for you. If you go back and reread that post you will see you were absolutely serious when you said it. To be at your stage in life, at your age, and seriously ponder a...
