Security And Rest In The Almighty

Learning to rest in His love is the starting point of true service to Him. For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: (Isa 30:15a)

The depravity of men (and to what degree it goes)

"Surrender to God' is never mentioned in Scripture as a Christian mandate. If it is please show me. In Romans 6 it speaks of 'yielding' our members to God. The word 'yield' is a military term meaning 'present' your members (for His service). Depravity extends to affect every part of our...

    What Chrisitan Expression Are You?

I have been through the gamut....high Church/low Church, Reformed/Arminian, Charismatic/Southern Baptist, as well as non denomination./closed Communion etc.. I know enough that there is Truth out there that we are to diligently seek without compromising for the sake of unity. I have respect for...

    Repenting

Repentance is simply the opposite side of the coin as faith. You cannot have one without the other. Repentance is a turning away from/(rethinking) whereas faith is a turning to the object of our confidence. For example, as I turn to the Lord to save me, I am at the same time letting go of...

christian heavy metal?? thoughts & opinions

I like all types of music (blues, folk, jazz rock, baroque) but all are best with Christian lyrics or at least a sane sense of humaneness in them. Some one should come out with a comparative study comparing the Church Cantatas of J.S. Bach with today's commercialized 'me and jesus' music of...

    Are we Christians or Jews?

Prentis, I was speaking in terms of 'conflicts'. Jesus says 'Sell all you have and come and follow me'; Paul says 'Whoever does not provide for his family is worse than an infidel'.

Evidence of Black Africans in the Bible

Who cares. We are all a bunch of turkeys anyways since the ark came to rest on Mount Ararat (in present day Turkey), of whom and from where the whole human race descended.

    Are we Christians or Jews?

I prefer to take the tack that if a teaching out of the OT or the Gospels or Revelation or even Peter and Jude and James, appear to be in conflict with Paul's Epistles, I give the more weight to Paul since he is specifically named as the Apostle to the Gentiles and has revealed the nature and...

    Christians and marriage

Physical beauty fades over time...then what? Two sourpuss faces staring at each other?

    A Profit for Christ?

Yeah, I chuckle at all the taboo against 'images' of Jesus from some of the more legalistic denominational persuasions and then look at their children's Sunday School curriculum...all in full color.

    Occupy Wall Street

Oh, I totally agree, but don't expect it from a culture that has turned it's back on it's Judeo-Christian roots....hmmm, neither should one expect respect for private ownership (i.e. stewardship) of the land of those who left the same roots.

    Freedom From Our Sins

Milk is on the tongue of the taster. The wisest Christian sages cannot scratch let alone plummet the depths of God's love in that God became man to suffer and die a cruel death on a bloody cross for those who despised and rejected Him when He could easily at the Fall picked up His toys...

    The meaning of LIFE

Only that I defended my original statement and somehow you inferred I had a problem with the dual nature of Christ...which is not the case.

    The meaning of LIFE

Of course Jesus is 100% God 100% man. What else do you wrongly assume about my position?

Another random thing I want to see what you guys got to say.

One account says Judas fell and the other says he hanged himself. If the rope broke both can be true. You tube is not a good source for Divine Truth. The bible is God's Word to us.

Another random thing I want to see what you guys got to say.

These are the two accounts in Scripture... And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself. (Mat 27:5) Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out...

    The meaning of LIFE

"If Life had a beginning then God had a beginning. Care to defend that bold statememt? " Ok, once more from a different angle. God has no beginning, He is Eternal. Eternal Life is found in the Son. If Eternal Life had a beginning (oxymoron) then the Eternal God had a beginning.

    Freedom From Our Sins

I also like "Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if...

    I fear nothing but myself

Since I can't decipher the body of your message (sorry I am not in poet mode), I will respond to it's title. Fear God, To fear oneself is the epitome of selfishness.

    The meaning of LIFE

OK. God is LIFE (JN 14:6). Note: I am not speaking of temporal created life but rather the very eternal make up (essence) of God. In the greek it is the difference between 'zoe' and 'bios', the former being the eternal kind.
