    Dead to the Law

The 10 commandments is Law, the moral Law! Good Luck keeping them perfectly! Because if you don't, well, we know what will happen, right! I have no fear of the Law, I am dead to Law by faith in Jesus Christ!

    Dead to the Law

I'm not playing games! If you want to try and keep the Law, go ahead, you will be judged by that Law. However I will not be judged by the Law, I will be judged by my 100% faith in Christ.

    Dead to the Law

It tells me that man is not justified by works in any fashion. it also tells me that faith in Christ is the only way that we can be Law-keepers in the sight of God. We believe on what He has already done, not what we can do for our justification.

    Dead to the Law

You can divide you faith with sacraments and church if you like, but remember this. Paul tells us it's by grace or works there is no combination, it's one or the other. Rom. 11:6 "And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is...

    Dead to the Law

If we cannot be justified by Law, what is the only thing left whereby we can be justified?

    Dead to the Law

Gal. 3:11 "But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for “the just shall live by faith.” What does this tell you?

    Dead to the Law

Faith backed up with works, as James said! But the works are only proof of justification. But Paul tells us "not by works of righteousness which we have done, but by mercy He saved us." It is 100% of His mercy that we are justified.

    Dead to the Law

Yes, of course! The Law says "do." The Cross says "done." Faith in Christ liberates us from the curse of the Law! Galatians 3:13

    Dead to the Law

They were under Law! The way to be blameless was through the Sacrificial System of the Law. The sacrifice of an animal which represented the future sacrifice of Christ for the sins of the world. None of them could keep the Law! Jn. 7:19 "Did not Moses give you the law, yet none of you keeps...

    Dead to the Law

Have you not heard of the New Covenant that Paul teaches in his epistles? That Christ fulfilled the Law that none of us could do, that the Law might be fulfilled in us who believe. In a nutshell the New Covenant is God seeing us who are in Christ as Law-keepers by faith in the One who did keep...

    Discerning : The Water Cults

Oh, I see now! I'm dealing with Catholicism! Sorry to say my friend, we live in 2 different worlds when it comes to faith in Christ. We will share very little in common, I'm sorry to say!

    Discerning : The Water Cults

That's the problem, they can't see the forest for the trees! Spiritual baptism escapes them, it's hidden from them in the water!

Did Jesus have a limitation to the Holy Spirit before being Baptized?

The focus should be on what He did on the Cross and His resurrection. He defeated Satan and made it possible for man to be in relationship with God again through Christ. He took from Satan the rites of ownership of the souls of men and gave us victory over death, hell, and the grave by faith in...

Did Jesus have a limitation to the Holy Spirit before being Baptized?

I've seen several different ideas as to what Christ emptied Himself of, how He lived His life as man and as God at the same time. I believe there are several times in scripture where it is evident that Christ didn't know exactly what was around the next corner. It is my opinion that what He did...

Did Jesus have a limitation to the Holy Spirit before being Baptized?

Of course this is all conjecture, but it is my opinion that when Mary conceived by the Holy Spirit, He never left.

Did Jesus have a limitation to the Holy Spirit before being Baptized?

According to the Jewish law, a priest could not begin his ministry until 30 yrs. old, this is why Christ began His ministry at that age. Actually the scripture doesn't give us enough information about Christ to know the difference between His life before and after His baptism. We have some...

Did Jesus have a limitation to the Holy Spirit before being Baptized?

Not following you Joe. What exactly does "Jesus rejoined with Baptism" mean?

    Discerning : The Water Cults

I have no interest to keep anyone from water! It is plainly a commandment of Christ for the repentant to be be water baptized, but not for the reasons you and some others here state! It's not the act of water baptism that is in question here, it's the purpose!

Did Jesus have a limitation to the Holy Spirit before being Baptized?

It's true the main reason Christ came was to die for our sins, but he also had to fulfil the Law of Moses completely in order to enact the New Covenant, that the Law might be fulfilled in us by faith. That's what Christ was doing for some 3 years, fulfilling the Law in every single detail!

Did Jesus have a limitation to the Holy Spirit before being Baptized?

Not downplaying, just directing it to its proper purpose!
