    The Doctrines of Grace

The answeris rtght there in YOUR post: "According to the Law." Mary was a faithful Jew and did what was required of EVEEY person. Circumcision was how one entered into the Covenant woth God (Gen. 17:10). Why was Jesus circumcised? Answer: Because it was required by the Law.

    The Doctrines of Grace

The Bible does tell us that Mary had a Savior just like the rest of us (Luke 1:47). However, the difference is that saving grace was applied to her when she was conceived. Unlike the rest of us, it was completed in her. We’re still being worked on (1 Cor. 1:8, 2 Cor. 2:15, 7:1, Phil. 2:12, Heb...

    Biblical Mary reply to behold

Jesus is God, the Son. Mary is His Mother. Hence, she is the Mother of God. Nope. There iss ZERO Biblical evidence that Mary gave birth to ANY other children than Jesus, or that she had "other" children.

    Reply: Call no man father

Here, you have 2 different authors, centuries apart, writing almost the EXACT same thing about 2 different entities – type and fulfilment: OT - The Ark carrying the Word of God is brought to the house of Obed-Edom in the hill country of Judea for 3 months, where it was a blessing. (2 Sam. 6:11)...

    Reply: Call no man father

Not sure what this has to do with Matt. 23:8-10 - but I'll address your point about Mary and the Ark. The WORD of God was carried inside the Ark. Jesus is the WORD of God (John 1:1). OT - The Tabernacle that housed the Ark was overshadowed by the cloud of glory of the Lord (Shekinah glory)...

THE Trinity can Now be discussed.

HUH?? I already responded to this . . . Shoow me the verse in Scriptuyre that says that members of the Body of Chrst cannot pray for each other when they are in Heaven, Rev. 8:5 shows the Elders in Heaven interceding on our behalf. Re. 8:5 shows the Angels doing the SAME thig . .

THE Trinity can Now be discussed.

Soooo, javing a painting of ANYBODY ptior to the invrntion of tha camera is a SIN?? CaYOU show me the verse in Scripture that makes this claim?? WRONG. To pray simply means to "ASK". Definition of the word “PRAY”: Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary: Full Definition of pray transitive verb...

THE Trinity can Now be discussed.

But you DO have picture, photos, etc. What's the difference? How is having a painting of St. Peter or Mary any different than pictures of your kids, parents, Aunt Winne, etc??

THE Trinity can Now be discussed.

I caught you with your proverbial foot in your mouth. Be careful about violating God's commandment against bearing FALSE witness (Exod. 20:16) . . .

Were Jesus's brothers born of another woman?

I wasn’t arguing from Scripture. The conversation was about Oral Tradition. We were discussing the Protoevangelium of James as one of the earlies written records. I said that it was NOT normal. And I never mentioned anything about a “formal institution of Temple virgins”.

Were Jesus's brothers born of another woman?

Much or your argument is based on your opinions – not established fact. The Protoevangelium doesn’t official declare some of the intentions or decisions of the characters involved. Granted – some of these things are implied – but they ARE implied, nonetheless. Some of what we beliueve about...

Were Jesus's brothers born of another woman?

I never stated that Mary’s service to the Temple was a “priestly” function. As for Anna being a widow and not a virgin, a vow of chastity can be made at ANY point in a person’s like. Just as a widow can become a nun and take that vow – so could Anna. Again – you keep insisting that I am...

Were Jesus's brothers born of another woman?

No – that is not the question. It is NOT for each individual to decide what they think Tradition ids. Jesus gave supreme earthly Authority to His Church – that whatever it declares on earth will be declared in Heaven (Matt. 16:). He said that whoever listens to or rejects His Church – they...

Were Jesus's brothers born of another woman?

Apparently, you haven’t been reading the posts. I NEVER made the argument that this was inspired Scripture. I referred to it as a 2nd century document. WRONG. The Protoevangelium’s claim that Mary was a consecrated servant/virgin of the Temple is not without precedent. Samuel was dedicated...

Were Jesus's brothers born of another woman?

That just it – Oral Tradition does NOT require written documentation. Your refusal to accept this Tradition tells me that you simply don’t believe in Oral Tradition. You don't even understand what it is. The Protoevangelium states that Mary was a consecrated virgin of the Temple. This is a...

Were Jesus's brothers born of another woman?

As I indicated before - the Protoevangelium of Jame is a 2nd century document that explains Mary’s early life and how the birth of Jesus came about. It is this document that gives us the names of Mary’s parents, Joachim and Anne. It explains how Mary was a consecrated virgin in the Temple, like...

Were Jesus's brothers born of another woman?

Once again – ORAL Tradition does not require written documentation. Either you accept it or you don’t – and it appears that you don’t. However, the earliest reference that I know of is the Protoevangelium of James (circa 150 AD).
