    No longer divided...but enemies.

I have a feeling many democrats would take a muslim terrorist over a republican.

By the way... Do you remember what I said about infant death and going to heaven? I said I don't know! Do not misrepresent me again.

Seems your answer is they don't need faith at all. With faith we obtain grace. We are no under the law. Now what's the "unforgivable sin" you are speaking of when sin abounds, grace does much more abound? Yes, there is an unforgivable sin.... It has nothing to do with the law or works of the...

Mary, Jesus is the ONLY way to heaven. But that's not the topic. Do you have any thing to say about whether we are saved by faith alone or whether you need works with faith?

Through Jesus Christ we have access BY faith INTO grace. Thats what Romans 5 says. Whats next? Lawyers? Mary, Jesus is the ONLY way to heaven. But that's not the topic. Do you have any thing to say about whether we are saved by faith alone or whether you need works with faith?

I know thats what you are saying, and again... An infant has neither faith or works. If you point is that they have grace, fine. Roman 5 says we have access to grace through faith. So faith is how we have grace. As to whether a non christian can go to heaven.... Show relevance to the topic.

It really sounds like you are building up to no one needing faith to go to heaven. The same thing applies to the adolescents as to infants. Are you not trying to say the don't need faith either? Again... I don't know the answer myself. I hope they do but I don't have any concrete answer for...

This is what you said: How is that the opposite of what I said? and.... For you to say the oppsite, you would have to say we do need faith. Faith alone.... I seem to remember you saying we need faith plus works. Well.... Unless you want to call a poopy diaper a work, infants haven't done...

Bygrace, If you read her post she extended the point that infants don't need faith to grown ups. Albiet in a very weird way. Since infants don't need faith we don't need faith alone. Weird reasoning. You can read what i said about the subje t in post #90. In short, i dont know.

Sounds like you are saying we don't need faith at all.

Tough questions! No one can humiliate a Child of God. Except God, of course. But you can allow yourself to be humiliated. You can be humbled: by a child or an old sage. The difference is how you receive the truth. Its better to be humbled than humiliated. But both get the job done...

Well if I said that I misspoke. I want the conversation to stay on point. I don't like when it gets off task (like it is now). But I also acknowledge this isn't an academic discussion (in academic settings a moderator will strike down off topixs) and also some great conversations have come...

I honestly don't know. I have considered the question, seen scripture on both sides, and have never came up with a solid answer. I hope so... But I don't have anything that has compelled me to come to a conclusion. So this is your point. Would you actually like to make a point?

Then why did you bring them up? What was your purpose for listing all them? Did you want me to weed through them? If so, what is the point or conclusion those verses make? [On the topic of Isaac] You brought it up twice in post #41. Tabletalk was discussing Romans 4 and you switched the...

Let's explore Hebrews 11. Why not? 17. By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, The verse says it was by faith he offered up Isaac. What for? As a burnt offering. He was to burn and kill Isaac. Did he...

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast. rom 4:6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,

Nor do I recall me saying you did. Its just funny that twice I've talked about Romans 4 and the conversation switched to Isaac being offered up. Good. So lets talk about Eph 2, Romans 4 and Galatians. OR would you rather just talk about James 2 or Heb 11 (which says it was by faith)? What 1...

Romans 4 shows Abraham's faith not being by works through Isaac's birth. That chapter is not dealing with Abraham offering up Isaac. I sense people don't get that, and its pretty important to understand that. The promise of Jacob is what Abraham had faith in (as pertaining to Rom 4). Its...
