What required for going to Heaven?

Sigh. You know...I think you and I must be on a different wavelength, as everything I say seems to be interpreted in a different way by you. :P No....I am not saying we should, or need to, judge the hearts of others. Clearly that is for God alone. What I was saying is that I know people who...

What required for going to Heaven?

So...to clarify....you believe me....and many others here, are not saved, just because we are not members of the RCC? Even though your quote here from Pope Eugene here is most likely talking about The Catholic Church....as in, the Universal church...the body of believers made up from from all...

    Duck Dynasty

People scream "tolerance and acceptance".....but it seems those things will not be afforded to Christian beliefs as well. It's hypocrisy, plain and simple...but you can't tell them that.

    Whats your favorite verse?

For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:21, ESV)

What required for going to Heaven?

But I know plenty of people who say "Yeah, I believe in God, and that Jesus was his son"....but they clearly do not have a relationship with Jesus....they do not know him as their Saviour. I'm not saying that Salvation has all these other requirements that you must 'tick' to be saved. What I am...

    If you had to choose

Wow.....tough question. I'd really want Luke, probably, because its got Jesus' words in it. But I'd also love Ephesians too...and Romans...and 1,2 John..... Nope, too hard to pick......I think i'd forgo my nice cushy Isle...stick me on a life raft with the whole bible!!

What required for going to Heaven?

No, salvation is not for them, but it does raise the point, doesn't it? How many people do you think there are who say, "I believe in Jesus"...but are not saved....show absolutely zero proof of bearing fruit that comes from salvation? I think the bible does say that whosoever 'believes' in...

    The prophets' speaking skills

I believe the purpose (or one of them!) for that is so that people can verify that the 'message' comes directly from God. Bad things always happened to God's people when they blithely believed every tom, dick and harry that came along with a message.

are we just wasting our money giving it to pro life groups that never get the job done

I suppose that 'the father' gives his consent by walking away. So many pregnancys occur from 'casual' encounters, where the two adults don't plan to see each other ever again. Yet another reason for God giving us the covenant of marriage.

are we just wasting our money giving it to pro life groups that never get the job done

It's interesting, isn't it, how today people would cry out horribly at the whole "Molech" cult, which would sacrifice children.....when what they're doing is exactly the same....the only difference is that then the children had already been born, and today they are still in the womb. Then it was...

It is mandatory for BACs to participate in their salvation

So...as long as we have 'just cause' we can do whatever we want?? That does not hold... Biblically there is such a thing as righteous anger....being angry over sin. But that leaves a lot....a lot! of space for anger elsewhere. Has he ever had a spurt of anger when someone cut him off in traffic...

    To learn the true gospel

No....actually that is a symbolic representation for spiritual purity. If there was a prerequisite to be both male and virginal to achieve spiritual superiority, then you would also wonder why God told us to "be fruitful and mulitply" as well as children "being a blessing". There is no biblical...

    The prophets' speaking skills

I suppose some people do tend to think that only 'age' can bring wisdom. But I think that daily we have proof otherwise!! There are absolutely some older people who are incredibly wise....my Grandpa was one of them....just a humble, loving, godly man! And there are numerous teachers out there...

    To learn the true gospel

Really? You're really going to question my intelligance or 'authority' because I used a colloquial term for the last book of the bible? Maybe I should have written it all out: 'The Revelation of Jesus Christ to John the Disciple as he was exiled on Patmos Isle'. Or maybe 'The Revelation to John'...

Christianity & the Old South (USA)

This thread is going no-where. Points and arguments have been made from both sides, and while they are repeated, nothing edifying is coming from it. Thread Locked.

    To learn the true gospel

See, this is exactly my point. If you are indeed a 'character' from Revelations, then you don't offer "opinion or perspective".....that is not what the characters of Revelations are called to do. They speak God's word. Full Stop. And as for the 'resonance'....that your answers resonate with some...

It is mandatory for BACs to participate in their salvation

Instead of arguing round and round and going nowhere but frustrationville.....lets break your claim down. For your argument and biblical interpretation to be valid, you need to be walking your talk. Are you now perfect? Because you are claiming that we must be...only perfect people don't...

Christianity & the Old South (USA)

You still seem to be missing my point....wildly. I'll try something else. Jesus said: “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other." (Matthew 6:24, ESV) Now, as Christians, shouldn't we be freeing...

It is mandatory for BACs to participate in their salvation

Well, yes....God "can" do anything...and he has the right to do so. No argument there. But saying "God can make a rule that we must keep the commandment" and "God has made a rule that we must keep the commandment"....turn out to be fundamentally the same. If God can....and therefore has, made...

    To learn the true gospel

So...You want people to ask you questions and consider your answers as though your claims are true and correct....claims you won't specify or try to back up. Claims that you don't seem to care if people believe or not. Logically I think that just went in a bit of a circle. Why are you here if...
