The Church decided the canon. How do you know you have the correct canon?

If faith by itself was sufficient for salvation why would Scripture say in reference to Abraham, "Thus you can see that his faith and his works were active together; his faith was brought to completion by woks" James 2:22. If faith was all that's needed (sufficient) it wouldn't need completion...

The Church decided the canon. How do you know you have the correct canon?

Right so when it is clearly written faith is brought to completion by works that means faith by itself is not sufficient because if it was it wouldn't need completion. Also what this doesn't mean, which is where you people go off the rails, is that works save us.

The Church decided the canon. How do you know you have the correct canon?

The word sufficient doesnt appear there. Can you think or is it just rote memorization? If something is sufficient what does that mean?

You believe that there is one God. You do well to assert that. But even the demons believe and tremble. James 2:19. You're in good company I see. Who put the bible together before the Catholic Church. Show evidence for your answer. Your commentary is meaningless. I can't wait.

The Church decided the canon. How do you know you have the correct canon?

Its in Scripture, it didn't "surface" in me. How many times do you need to be told faith without works is dead just like a body without a spirit is dead also. You live under this delusion that you are at odds with me. You're not. You're at odds with Scripture. Nothing I've written is my own words.

Faith a part from works is useless. You ignore the word of God. If your place in heaven is secure then you can take murder and steal. Please spare us the those people were never really Christian nonesense.

The Church decided the canon. How do you know you have the correct canon?

The Church decided the canon. How do you know you have the correct canon?

Good morning You're slowly catching on. Yes works follow faith and bring it to completion, James 2:22. The Holy Spirit guides us yes but it's our choice to do that which we are guided to do. Love is a free act of the will. If we are not free to refuse to do it then it's not a free act of the...

And faith is brought to completion by works. James 2:22. For just as the body is dead without a Spirit, so faith without works is also dead. James 2:26

Again what the thief did does not negate that faith is brought to completion through works. That faith without works is like a body without spirit, dead. Unless your claiming the words.of James are useless and can be ignored.

The Church decided the canon. How do you know you have the correct canon?

Works are a free act of the will. If we aren't free to refuse to do them then we cannot be acting out of love. Love has to be freely given. It wasnt just a testimony it was also a rebuke. Again God can give salvation to whoever he chooses. Matt 20:1-16

Tell me what sufficient means. While you're at it cite any place where I stated people are saved by works.

The Church decided the canon. How do you know you have the correct canon?

You clearly have no idea what sufficient means. You can post volumes of nonsense it doesn't make you right. If faith was sufficient there is no reason for James to write faith is brought to completion through works.

The Church decided the canon. How do you know you have the correct canon?

James 2:17 In the same way, faith by itself is dead if it does not have works. James 2: 22 Thus you can see that his (Abraham) faith and his works were active together; his faith was brought to completion by works. James 2: 24 You can see then that a man is justified by eorks.snd not by...
