I believe you. Like to cause problems for people..... A form of social terrorism.... A mental illness?

Did Jesus say that adultery is grounds for divorce? - Nope.

A little humor if you see it that way. The Jews could have multiple wives….but still the real world. They had to feed and clothe them…..and if you think clothes are expensive today…WOW. Cloth was expensive and in short supply and dye was another matter. And the Mosaic Law made it clear that a...

Did Jesus say that adultery is grounds for divorce? - Nope.

I run into this a lot. Modern Christians see polygamy as a bad thing that bad people did. It is the wrong perspective. The Mosaic Law regulated it.....Yahweh took credit for King David's wives because in that culture if you had several wives and a lot of children it was a sign of God's...

Did Jesus say that adultery is grounds for divorce? - Nope.

I did not say that the word divorce is not in the scriptures......I pointed out that the topic in the Gospels where Yeshua was talking to Jews about divorce was Jewish/Mosaic Law. And did not entirely pertain to Christians .....the word divorce does not occur outside of the Gospels...

Did Jesus say that adultery is grounds for divorce? - Nope.

You wish.....back to the Bible for you. Nearly every significant person in the Old Testament had more than one wife.

Did Jesus say that adultery is grounds for divorce? - Nope.

Yea, none of that is the pretty side of Christianity. Most of it was the Jews and Jewish-Christians because the Gentile-Christians had no such customs. Not to say they did not partake. And there is a historical side of it. The Catholic Church did not allow priests to have wives so they "the...

Did Jesus say that adultery is grounds for divorce? - Nope.

Internet funny... What does the Bible say about divorce? The New American Bible translates this passage as: But I say to you, whoever divorces his wife (unless the. marriage is unlawful) causes her to commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery. The problem with this...

Did Jesus say that adultery is grounds for divorce? - Nope.

OK let us keep things in perspective.....More or less porneia relates to prostituites....one way or another. The Romans considered this a good thing....both socially and religiously. Now our definition of it....our definition not the koine Greek definition is that porneia mean illicit...

The bed sheet from the bridal chamber.....but the rest of it.....talk about reading something into a scripture. Fornication is not a biblical word. The road to Damascus is Interstate I-44 God Bless. Be good and do good.

Did Jesus say that adultery is grounds for divorce? - Nope.

Deuteronomy 22:16-18 16 Her father will say to the elders, “I gave my daughter in marriage to this man, but he dislikes her. 17 Now he has slandered her and said, ‘I did not find your daughter to be a virgin.’ But here is the proof of my daughter’s virginity.” Then her parents shall display the...

Did Jesus say that adultery is grounds for divorce? - Nope.

I do not know how many times I have explained this. Yeshua could not have differentiate between adultery and fornification because nothing like fornication is in the scriptures....why do you think I said that fornication is not a biblical word? The scriptures! Look at the actual scriptures and...

Did Jesus say that adultery is grounds for divorce? - Nope.

Fornication should not be part of the discussion.... It is not a biblical word.....not in the scriptures. It is a 4th century Latin word associated with the Greek word porniea which is associated with prostitutes. But fornication has definitions that do not relate to the scriptures or reality...

    Adultery vs Fornication

As they say, you hit the nail on the head....exactly right. Religiously and civilly......In most countries even if you have a wedding ceremony, if you do not have sex you can get the marriage annulled. The union consummates the marriage.

    Adultery vs Fornication

I guess you did not read the posts....Read post 15 But you are absolutely right.....People under estimate the seriousness of the sin of casual sex and its ramifications.... the sins that follow. No respect for them and no respect for yourself.....just using another person for your...

    Adultery vs Fornication

So, to marry someone scripturally is simply engaging in sexual intercourse with them....and staying with them in a marriage.
