WOMEN ARE TO KEEP SILENT IN THE CHURCH

Right. And that is why our gifts for us individually in Mark 16:16-18 doesn't have interpretation of tongues. That gift is for the church when someone stands to give a message in tongues that MUST be interpreted. Tongues are only understood supernaturally, never naturally.

WOMEN ARE TO KEEP SILENT IN THE CHURCH

God never does anything to contradict His word. Here is the rule: 2 For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries. That means they couldn't understand the tongues naturally. Therefore........?

WOMEN ARE TO KEEP SILENT IN THE CHURCH

To the Corinthians who are Greek I believe, read 1 Cor. 14:22 and 23 and let me know why Paul said that tongues is a sign to the unbelievers, not believers.

WOMEN ARE TO KEEP SILENT IN THE CHURCH

You are correct, the Gift of Tongues is not our prayer language. That is the sign of tongues. It is in Mark 16 and interpretation of tongues is not given for prayer and praise. However, in 1 Cor. 12, the similar gifts of tongues, does require interpretation because it is for the profit of all...

WOMEN ARE TO KEEP SILENT IN THE CHURCH

What the girl heard was from God and very personal to her. She didn't know they were praying in tongues because all she heard was English. You can scoff, and I don't blame you, but what God said to her from the tongues and her interpretation changed her life and she became a Christian. I know...

WOMEN ARE TO KEEP SILENT IN THE CHURCH

Not just Jews, but unsaved Corinthians and other Gentiles. Are tongues a positive sign, or a negative sign? 1 Cor. 14:22-23

WOMEN ARE TO KEEP SILENT IN THE CHURCH

Can you imagine the cacophony of noise that 120 different languages all spoken at once would produce. Who owns the gifts? God does. He is authorized to use His own gifts in the drawing in of DEVOUT Jews. I've seen the identical thing happen to a non-Christian teenager who had Christian friends...

WOMEN ARE TO KEEP SILENT IN THE CHURCH

It was both. The 120 speaking in tongues supernaturally did not know what they were saying, and the 3000 heard all of them at once speaking in each man's language. Like a choir. They each heard supernaturally, not naturally, but by the gift of interpretation of tongues. It is very clear and...

WOMEN ARE TO KEEP SILENT IN THE CHURCH

You were talking about the 3000 people who heard them speaking in tongues. Do you believe they heard their own languages naturally or supernaturally?

WOMEN ARE TO KEEP SILENT IN THE CHURCH

I'm not talking about the believers in Jesus. I'm talking about those who were listening. I mentioned 3,000. There were only 120 disciples there with the Apostles. Read these again and tell me which you believed. Did you mean that the 3,000 heard them speak in tongues and naturally heard their...

    Work out your own Salvation?

I would say that members of forums like this ARE abiding in Him themselves because they have to be in the Word to be able to post arguments, even if wrong doctrinally. They still love Jesus and read His Word. That's the important thing.

WOMEN ARE TO KEEP SILENT IN THE CHURCH

Maybe I misunderstood what you meant. Did you mean that the 3,000 heard them speak in tongues and naturally heard their own language? Or did you mean that the 3,000 heard them speak in tongues and supernaturally heard their own language? So, naturally or supernaturally?

    Work out your own Salvation?

The scripture points out they were once IN ME. The point is they must continue The belief in OSAS is a doctrine of demons to make those who believe in it to not believe the warnings.

    Work out your own Salvation?

RJ, I've looked at the warnings in the Bible about those who expected to go to heaven because they at one time had the Spirit and even operated in the gifts of the Spirit. So why did Jesus say to them, "Depart from me, I never knew you." Lately, I've come to the conclusion they did not continue...

WOMEN ARE TO KEEP SILENT IN THE CHURCH

Yes, worry is a sin. I know God was guiding me to buy this house, and when we have a tornado warning, I just go to bed.

    Work out your own Salvation?

Yes as long as you abide in Him. Study the whole chapter of 1 John 3. That is the first type of sin that is taken away - Lawlessness, which are sins unto death. Then Jesus starts us on a life-long process of glorification, making us like Christ, Romans 8:29-30, 2 Peter 1:5-11 to make us finally...

WOMEN ARE TO KEEP SILENT IN THE CHURCH

Look more closely at that scripture. "every man heard THEM speak in his own language. What each heard was like a choir praising God in his own language. That is supernatural, thus a gift of the Spirit. If what you determined was true, then 1 Cor. 14:2 is not true scripture.

Earning Knowledge of God / Eternal Life

I see three different gifts given by each member of the Trinity. Father: Romans 12 (mankind to become saved) Holy Spirit: Mark 16 (individual) and 1 Cor. 12 (profit of all) Son: Ephesians 4 (offices in the church)

WOMEN ARE TO KEEP SILENT IN THE CHURCH

So the 3,000 had the gift of interpretation of tongues to understand what was being said?

WOMEN ARE TO KEEP SILENT IN THE CHURCH

Do you believe 1 Corinthians 14:2 is true in all instances? "For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries." How did the 3,000 Jews understand the tongues spoken on the Day of Pentecost?
