THE Trinity can Now be discussed.

Irenaeus (115-190). As a boy he listened to Polycarp, the disciple of John. He became Bishop of Lyons. “The Church, though dispersed throughout the whole world, even to the ends of the earth, has received from the apostles and their disciples this faith: . . . one God, the Father Almighty...

    Deceiving Yourself?

Thanks @MatthewG but it was not a matter of tripping up now and again, and walking in absolute obedience at other times, trusting in His strength alone. I found that I did not love the Lord God with my whole heart, mind and soul. I did not know if I would die for Him. There was something...

    Deceiving Yourself?

Testimony I encountered Christ for the first time, after an atheistic upbringing, at the age of 23.It was a profound experience of which I remember the exact time not just the date. I knew that Christ had died for my sins and I walked on air for three weeks. There followed however, 17 years...

    Deceiving Yourself?

If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 1John 1:8. As we know, good exegesis consists of using the inductive method, in taking many scriptures, and deriving a general conclusion from them. ‘The number, clarity and relevance of those many passages is crucial to...

THE Trinity can Now be discussed.

Christ was there from the beginning - the beginning of creation. So outside of time. And through Him came the creation. But God the creator only became a Father at that point.

THE Trinity can Now be discussed.

The things that are mystery, like the incarnation, godliness, spiritual rebirth, the Trinity, cannot be explained in human terms, although we know from the revelation of the Holy Spirit that they are true. It is much better to demonstrate to others that they are missing this revelation by...

THE Trinity can Now be discussed.

I am talking about refuting something that will remain a mystery which cannot be understood by finite minds. There are many things that can be shown clearly from scripture.

THE Trinity can Now be discussed.

Yes though we cannot yet understand how Jesus is at the same time God, yet Son of God.

THE Trinity can Now be discussed.

Yes discussion with love, not the arguing we have seen. And no recognition that it is ultimately a mystery.

THE Trinity can Now be discussed.

I would like to present what Eastern Orthodoxy teaches about the Trinity, and propose that what has happened here, on this thread, only proves that they are right. They do not believe in the same Trinity as we find in the western world of Christians. They believe in Monarchial Trinitarianism...

The Problems of Solo Scriptura (from Keith Matthison)

Edited. It could be. I don't know of a western Trinitarian who holds to the Filioque clause, (the Spirit is proceeding from the Son as well as the Father) and who personally claims Theosis for salvation, at baptism (of the Spirit). But then, I have only just 'gone over' to EO.

The Problems of Solo Scriptura (from Keith Matthison)

The early church did (and the EO still do) teach Monarchistic Trinitarianism which is not the same as the Trinitarianism of the western church. I wonder if this is the source of confusion. 'According to Monarchical Trinitarianism, as expressed by (MT), the Father is the sole ultimate...

    Brainwashing/ Conditiong.

Yes agreed, and later, so does she. She emphasizes that we are compliant if we do not stand up and speak up. After finishing the book, I think everyone in the church should read it. Speaking out against what is accepted as normal.
