The fallacy of believing Jesus was talking about the temple of stones on the Mount of Olives

I think it might help to step back and look at the structure of both Daniel and Matthew more simply, because both passages actually describe more than one event. First, Daniel In Book of Daniel 9:26–27, we are not given one single event, but a sequence of related events: The Messiah is cut...

The fallacy of believing Jesus was talking about the temple of stones on the Mount of Olives

This might appear to be a focus on the word “finish,” but I think meaning of the word has to be understood within the full context of Daniel 9:24, not in isolation. The verse doesn’t present a single action, but a series of six parallel purposes: finishing transgression, making an end of sins...

The fallacy of believing Jesus was talking about the temple of stones on the Mount of Olives

I will attempt to address some of David’s comments tomorrow and hopefully, at least some will be accepted. But I will have to agree that anytime someone offers a very different interpretation, it is usually not accepted until…. But regarding your thoughts on the “transgression that causes...

    Four horseman in Revelation

Thank you . Let me ask to to consider something. In the book of Daniel we find that God reveals the 4 and only 4 kingdoms that are included in His plan of restoration and salvation for His people, His city and as a result of their rejection of Him, He will also reveal His plan of salvation for...

The fallacy of believing Jesus was talking about the temple of stones on the Mount of Olives

Thank you, but I am not saying that. But I am saying it is so difficult at times to discover or uncover the reason why God would place something in His scriptures.—- because there is nothing that does have a purpose. We may never find them until we come face to face with Him but we can ask “why...

The fallacy of believing Jesus was talking about the temple of stones on the Mount of Olives

But what about # 3? Was the last 7 years set aside just for the Messiah to complete His mission? Why crucified in the “midst of the 7 years? You are certainly right about 8:25. But he, the one who goes against God is revealed not only in chapter 8 but in 7 and 11. But that discussion should...

The fallacy of believing Jesus was talking about the temple of stones on the Mount of Olives

David, sorry but you are right, Scripture does interpret Scripture. But more often than not, it is usually SO difficult to find the pieces that fit along side of them. Do you agree that God had set aside the last 7 years for Christ? (This is directly connected to the 3.5 year issue you selected).?

The fallacy of believing Jesus was talking about the temple of stones on the Mount of Olives

Thanks David, but I noticed that you had commented on more than one element. This will cause us, especially me, to provide a lengthy response that is more like a “buckshot “ approach rather than a rifle fire that is focused on one target. Ok, you have selected # 3 which deals with the “midst of...

The fallacy of believing Jesus was talking about the temple of stones on the Mount of Olives

Thanks David and if you do not mind, I would like to discuss our (all within this forum that are participating) different interpretations on this very difficult topic. There are so many separate elements mentioned in your reply. They certainly do interact or connect with each other but perhaps...

The fallacy of believing Jesus was talking about the temple of stones on the Mount of Olives

Reflective narrative: The Restorative and the Destructive verses - A Prophetic Divide Before continuing into the next two verses—arguably among the most controversial in all of Scripture—it is vital to pause and recognize the prophetic structure God has intentionally given Daniel in chapter 9...

    Four horseman in Revelation

Marty, here is just a cut / paste narrative found in the chapter 7 commentary on Daniel. The little horn cannot come until the cross that occurs during the reign of pagan Rome - the 4th kindom. Reflective Narrative: Hidden in the Feet, Revealed in the Horns: God’s Law and God’s People and the...

    Four horseman in Revelation

Marty, I apologize, I promised I would sent you a cut / paste for trhe 4 riders... here are the last two.... Revelation 6:5-6 (Third seal) 5 When He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come and see.” So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a...

    Four horseman in Revelation

Thanks Marty… if you would, please let me know who you believe the little horn is and when did / does he arrive. Also, what specifically do you disagree with in my interpretation that the papacy is the little horn. Thanks so much and you and your family are always in my prayers. God bless always.

This is the context of how Dan. 9:24-27 should be considered!

Yes, the prophecies are FOR YOUR PEOPLE (Daniel’ people) and FOR YOUR CITY (Daniel’s city). Because they were part of God’s plan of restoring them back to Jerusalem - Daniel is written TO THEM, but they (Jews) are not the ones that will be fulfilling them. Jesus came TO THEM TO FULFILL HIS...

This is the context of how Dan. 9:24-27 should be considered!

Well, I wish the best for you but I would respectfully ask that you might consider getting into a Bible study — there are plenty online that you can choose from, and I hope there are groups where you live that you can attend. You are indeed missing out on so much of meaning of His Word. Many...

This is the context of how Dan. 9:24-27 should be considered!

Do you are completely ignoring the 40 days in the desert and His attendance of the 4 Passovers? How can one arrive at the end of their ministry? Who is teaching you?

This is the context of how Dan. 9:24-27 should be considered!

Do you realize the 70 weeks of years prophecy is a literal 490 years broken into 3 sections- 7 then, 62 and the final 1 week? And each “week” is 7 years long? So, AFTER the completion of the 7 and 62 weeks (483 literal years), THEN THE MESSIAH. So, the Messiah ARRIVES…. The very first thing...

I can assure you that the Holy Spirit did reveal the interpretations to me during my long study of Daniel. Now what?
