    Why Do You Believe....

Death is by definition the cessation of life, so there's that.... I don't know. However, with death being the END of life and there being no evidence that conscious life continues after brain death, then it follows that conscious existence is fully tied to one's physical life and therefore ends...

    Evidence To Be Seen

Martyrdom doesn't make what the martyr believed to be worth dying for true. Many dissenting faiths have martyrs or those willing to die for their beliefs. It has been shown that many of those prophecies were disputed or not even about a 1st century messianic figure so that number is...

What I've Learned About SARS Cov-19

    1. The virus in and of itself may not be deadly BUT causes deadly reactions in the body. 2. The virus is spread primarily by droplets and aerosols rather than by being acquired by touching affected surfaces. - masks work on droplets - masks have little to no affect on aerosol spread

What I've Learned About SARS Cov-19

In my immediate family, 6 close relatives have been affected by this disease with 2 deaths. Over the course of the ordeal we have experienced over the last year, here are some things I've learned.

    Evidence To Be Seen

So says the likes of you and SOME churches, but that view is not accepted by all believers in the Hebrew God as a longer standing dissenting view is still widely accepted. The Maccabean chronology, then, is that which is indicated by the general context of the book of Daniel and is, in fact, the...

    Evidence To Be Seen

The likelihood of him being the Messiah rests on whether what is written about him is indisputable fact. If that which is written is either NOT about him or NOT based in fact, then that weakens an already hard to believe case.

    Why Do You Believe....

I personally have no expectation for what's beyond death as I view death as the end of life where my conscious existence ceases. That places more emphasis on the significance of this life, my only life.

    Evidence To Be Seen

Scholars do not agree. Many assign the prophecy as follows: - The "prince who is to come" in verse 26b is typically seen by critical scholars as a reference to Antiochus IV - In the 62 weeks period the city is rebuilt (verse 25b) and an "anointed one shall be cut off" (verse 26a); this...

    Why Do You Believe....

For clarity's sake is it right to understand that you can affirm that the Bible writings are true and of God because an unseen force or power (Holy Breath) has made it known to you?

Why I'm Not a Theist Anymore

Not exactly. When I ask if the 12 were real people I am referring to them being the people who actually witnessed and did the things claimed by the NT writers.

    Why Do You Believe....

There lies the problem. A lack of specifics and definitive declarations in prophetic passages makes it difficulty to use many as foundational pillars. With Daniel, there are divisions even amongst believers whether they be Jews that apply the prophecy to Israel, premillennial Christian sects...

Why I'm Not a Theist Anymore

Paul CLAIMED his source was 1st hand accounts. Are the 12 apostles even historical people?

    Evidence To Be Seen

    1. Disputed in that: https://jewsforjudaism.org/knowledge/articles/daniel-9-a-true-biblical-interpretation/ Based on the Hebrew original and context, Jews have very valid reasons for rejecting the Christian interpretation, and the New Testament authors never quote these passages and...

Why I'm Not a Theist Anymore

This, as with Luke's testimony in Luke 1:1-4 is the DEFINITION of second hand, non-eyewitness testimony.

    Why Do You Believe....

Not quite. The issue is ACTUALLY whether or not the Bible IS God's Word. My contention is that it is NOT and I am asking those who assert that it is to back that assertion with facts. But what prophecies were ACTUALLY fulfilled? Much of what is claimed is ambiguous and non-specific. I see...

    Why Do You Believe....

Again, Jesus said no such thing. Men who CLAIM to speak for God said these things. Lest we forget, it is the credibility of THOSE men in question here. It seems to parallel greatly with Jeremiah 49:7-22 and it has lots of ambiguity. You have Edom (Esua's descendants apparently) being judged for...

Why DO Most Christians Believe Death is a Separation as Opposed to Cessation of Life?

I think we agree to an extent here, yay! From all I've read, the Bible seems to consistently advocate the notion of resurrection where dead people are brought back to life again to be either rewarded with lasting life or punished with a 2nd death from which there is no resurrection.

    Why Do You Believe....

We can all post links someone else opines on. I'm asking YOU as an individual for your scriptural validating texts. Can you provide specific book, chapter, and verse that's meaningful to you in showing fulfilled prophecy? 365 Prophecies about Jesus I like this. Daniel 2, 7 and 9 can be a focus.

    Why Do You Believe....

Stop with the choosing angle. It's not about wanting or not wanting something to be true. It is about demonstrating what is true regardless of what people desire to be true. Speaking specifically for myself, I neither want to believe or don't want to believe. There is no bias towards belief...
