In my immediate family, 6 close relatives have been affected by this disease with 2 deaths. Over the course of the ordeal we have experienced over the last year, here are some things I've learned.

1. The virus in and of itself may not be deadly BUT causes deadly reactions in the body.
2. The virus is spread primarily by droplets and aerosols rather than by being acquired by touching affected surfaces.
